  1. I think you just need to ask lots of questions and see where you can find, you could go and ask around the local tackle shops they may be able to help you
  2. I've never fished it but apparently it is quite well stocked these days and has some nice ones In πŸ‘
  3. Llalbagh πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…πŸ… I'm not far from you in Pappers πŸ‘ I will have a think Charlie's syndicate? Chawston Gingerbread lake Biggleswade ticket Wyboston on the Luton ticket Milton Country Park lakes Waterbeach Cawcutts Tbh there is a lot but its finding something not full at the minute, I know my syndicate is full already sadly
  4. Most round that way seem to be a little more expensive tbh, that I can think of Club lakes you may get more choice, Have a look at the carp catcher site,or on his YouTube, he fishes all round cambs and has fished a lot of places round there
  5. I've only used 15lb and I've never managed to break it yet, it's a decent line tbh, tough, reliable, sinks well, doesn't stretch loads and will last a long time, I change mine yearly, occasionally strip a couple of rod lengths off, but unless you really need to cast to the moon its perfect
  6. The 20lb hydrotuff is called Chuck Norris 😁
  7. 15lb Gardner hydrotuff is about the equivalent of most 18lb lines, its bulletproof, I recently tried another line after 1 trip I missed it and it is back on my new reels, unless you are casting miles hydrotuff is a great line Any Gardner line is better than any fox line, and that is a true fact πŸ˜‚, πŸ‘
  8. I think I am pretty settled on the idea of going all in tbh, it's very weedy all over the place and I think from having used one last time (with camflex) that it was the only rig I was confident was in play, I'm working on spot cleaning but it might take a while as I want to do naturally with bait this time πŸ€” I've ordered some more camflex as I am getting low, I have tied up a couple naked also so I may try one, but normally I like to use a leader myself so I think it makes sense to use one with the chod and you have all pretty much agreed it's best so that's good enough for me Thanks all
  9. Thanks Unfortunately leadcore is banned but I have been using camflex unleaded leader which is as similar as you can get I guess , I just wondered if there is any advantage to going naked really,
  10. Hi guys I've decided I need to be using a chod rig for next little while until my spots have thinned out, basically I am chucking into low lying Canadian at present, Would you be using naked or Gardner camflex unleaded leader or a fluoro leader ? I am going to use the Gardner drop out clips, so if the lead needs to it can come off and I am going to attach it to a Q type clip, and use the Gardner tungsten beads In just can't decide whether naked or a leader is best? Thanks all
  11. The Sonik bedchair is pretty good value for money And Cyprinus do some pretty good and reasonably priced bivvies
  12. I thought I would do a little update, apart from my shocking diet this week at fishing and birthday meals etc , I've still been sticking to no sugar in tea and somehow I've still managed to lose some weight, I am now at 21st 2lb for a 12lb total loss, hopefully this coming week I can hit a stone, that's the goal for this week, πŸ‘ Loose belts everybody πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ
  13. Tbh you pretty much slacken it off, everytime you set your bobbins to pull a bit of line off or something, if you are fishing snags etc you just make sure it's done up tight once it's on the alarm and you set up how you want it, it soon becomes second nature, they aren't difficult to use front drag reels I don't think, I would probably say simpler after a few uses, the main thing i forget to do is turn my alarm back on, and let's be honest while they are new you will be out checking on them every 5 minutes anyway, won't take long til they are 2nd nature
  14. https://www.feedstim.com/ Not sure if you have heard of these, but I got some additives from them pre brexit, might still be of use to EU(you) πŸ™„
  15. I use 12ft 3lb tc rods they aren't that broom Handley, not like they used to be tbh, I also remember thinking 3lbtc was a big rod and they were stiff, and they were back then I had a shimano cheapy and it was horrible πŸ˜‚, i use wychwood c-101s at present and they are quite nice to play fish on tbh, There are Definately lighter rods out there though, if I think of anymore I will let you know πŸ‘
  16. 11ft 3lb tc https://www.tacklebox.co.uk/rods-en/carp-rods/tackle-box-darent-valley-specimen-rod-11ft-3lb.html
  17. No they are made by the tackle box cfx sorry wrong initials πŸ˜‚ but I think free spirit rods are well regarded also πŸ‘
  18. Have a look at the tackle box Darenth Valley and or ctx range I think they do an 11ft rod πŸ‘
  19. Good luck BB, It took me ages to realise you had changed your name 😁I kept thinking who's this new person 😳
  20. Well apart from having a nice couple of days, I didn't catch anything, what did I learn, not a lot really, there is a lot of low lying weed so chods or zigs were probably the ones probably zigs for the conditions tbh, my reels sound like they are dying, I don't think the fish were anywhere near where I thought and are probably hiding out beyond the flooded area, behind the islands they have a lot of hiding places at present even more so than usual, I tried but I think I've possibly started something to continue with so well call it a stepping stone session, was nice to be out though, even though I had to change from thermals to shorts and t shirt today 😁
  21. Breakfast of champions 😁cheese and bacon toastie mmm mmm
  22. It sounds like he needs to read the AT guidelines again tbh, perhaps you could take him to specsavers πŸ“–πŸ€”
  23. Base camp alpha πŸ˜‚ glorious morning though, best bit I don't have to pack up today 😁
  24. Now we wait and see, don't think I would change much tbh 6 or so airbombs over each rod should get them rooting around, got them nice and spread out Nice evening at the moment, getting colder but the rudd are a flippin, and I have a moorhen parked up next to me all good signs tbh now all we need is Mr carp and maybe a bailicks πŸ˜‚
