  1. Perfect thanks, they are almost the value of the rod though maybe I just need a new set of rods with those on 😂
  2. I've just broken the insert on one my rods again, I also did the same on my sonik rod, I'm going off the rings with plastic inserts, I break them too easily don't even know how or when it happened tbh, can you get eyes without the inserts (ie more Elmo resistant) 😉
  3. Maybe I had my weetabix that day or something 😁 did seem weak though will try again
  4. Thanks had 2 so far, biggest 19lb would like one of the bigger ones now not being greedy but pleeeeeeese 😁
  5. I'm using the fluro still, trying the gemini tidy booms today they are nice, Another crimpable boom material that doesn't cost the earth is Gardner stiff link 25lb works with a 0.6mm crimp
  6. I'm not sure if they do but I seem to recall someone on here maybe @bluelabelhaving an issue with one retractable rod not fitting another bag , so it may be best to just go for the Sonik ones that will fit properly
  7. There are a lot of times when I think I want some smaller rods, I remember the vaders feeling a bit odd for a while after 12ft ones, I think I just like a 12ft rod they just feel right I think , I still think I want some new ones though 🤔😂
  8. Has anyone used this? I just tried crimping it and it seemed to break fairly easily, I also tied a couple of figure of 8 loops and pulled them still broke quite easily, I usually pull my booms a little harder and they don't break 😱 Is it rubbish or am I just being ham-fisted 😱
  9. I had some 10ft vader x before they weren't bad rods for the money really, @Highyis the Sonik specialist on here, his dog has a sponsorship deal with them I've broken one of the 50mm butt rings on my latest set of rods, so sooner or later i am going to need some more 😳😱
  10. I'm going tomorrow morning, went today and did some work at the lake and snuck some bait in, they were eating it by the time I left, I am excited now 😱
  11. Free spirit, do some tree creeper rods that might be nice, Sophie the carp catching kid uses them and catches some nice fish with them,
  12. Good luck, hope you enjoy it and catch a monster 👍
  13. Tidy booms and the aqualine hooks arrived yesterday, very impressed, the hooks seem good quality and nice and sharp 👍
  14. You could add a few floaters in there, That should stop it sinking too fast and allow it to sink slower, Or you could use a bag mesh or solid attached to the hook and use foam or some floaters mixed in , then the lead will settle first and the bag should stay off the deck til it melts, this isn't ideal if you need to cast it far but if you don't this should work a treat and allow your rig to settle gently giving you a better chance of being presented on top of the silt
  15. Just bought some of the hooks and various tidy booms to have a play with, couidnt resist 👍
  16. It's not that complicated tbh, just set it to the right mode and away you go, then it's just a case of messing about with it to see what you want,
  17. I would also like to add i don't really understand mine that well sometimes i mess about with the settings a little, usually use the narrow beam sensitivity set about 80% or so, then I just chuck it out and usually all I find is loads of weed, then If I find a clear or clearish spot just feel for a drop and hope for the best, in an ideal world I know my spots already and don't use it, but it does help you find things you wouldn't find in a month of Sundays,or as above with minimum fuss and disturbance, in many ways a lead is better or still essential but it does help a bit, for example I have fished one swim a lot and I never knew there was a nice raised hump until I chucked the deeper out, for now this is covered in weed but it will become a spot once the weed dies back, to clear it would make the swim look too fish able so im holding off 😂
  18. I used mine to pretty good effect the other week, I found some fish fizzing around a massive weed bed chucked it on top, away from them a bit slowly dragged it back, found the edge of the weed and a clear spot in 1 cast, plopped a rig and bait out with the 6m baiting pole 5m later this one was hooked, I almost wanted to say boom then 😂
  19. I've got a deeper pro+ and if it is the same I can choose between 15 and 50 hertz narrow or wide beam is that the same thing you mean ? The pro plus is quite easy to use though so I assume the chirp won't make it too complicated, will just be some settings to play with
  20. They look quite a nice hook too 👍 Have you used much of there bits, I often think they look good
  21. No I didn't see those nick tbh I doubt mine aren't being eaten as soon as they are soft enough the rudd would pull them apart if everything else has left them as there is so many of them in there, i use the Aller Aqua ones they seem pretty good tbh
  22. I think that is the key mate just to enjoy your fishing, then it doesn't get tough, it's just nice to be out 👍
  23. That's another reason I quite like the bigger ones, they don't make a carpet as such so they probably move more between bites and its more like feeding more boilies than smaller pellets
  24. I use a lot of pellet with my boilies, I tend to buy the biggest I can get as I think you get more bang for your buck, I am using 17mm ones now, not only are they great because you can just mix them with boilies and pult the lot out together but they don't break down for 48 hours meaning if you are prebaiting with them they wont just be mush by the time they find them, and they are nuisance resistant, but if you have a ridgemonkey boilie crusher, you can also crush pellets in it making a whole variety of bits which are ideal for bags etc, they are also good for taking on liquids,
