  1. You probably wouldn't to be fair, people just need a human to listen. I did a mental health first aid course this year, I like to think I've always been caring but that gave me some tools I didn't have, and it's been really eye opening. Little tip Just listen, don't try to tell them you know how it feels, just ask open ended questions that give them the space to talk, be calm, reassuring and patient, you have all the tools already, I've been helping a girl at work with anxiety through some tricky times and I went to a disciplinary with her last week, after that she went to her boss got talking honestly and got things sorted out and is happy again and less stressed, she bought me some chocolates as a thankyou, made me well emotional lol, but it was nice to have made a difference
  2. Well done mate, very good thing you did, glad it was a good outcome too. Hopefully she starts to get some help and get better
  3. Just does depend who and where now doesn't it really I think the longer we leave it the tougher it will get though to find somewhere. So I guess wait a week or two see who is still interested and go from there?
  4. Yeah my only concern with horseshoe would be what if we turned up and it's rammed and we're all just camping, I know what you mean though, exclusives might be hassle if people back out, I don't mind driving I just wouldn't mind knowing I've got a swim when I get there if that makes sense
  5. Couple more venues nearer me that may be available well the top one is at present I did enquire about the other to check, both available exclusively, Bedfordshire and cambs, just thought i would put them out there incase we struggled to get any others https://www.tedwhitemanwaters.co.uk https://www.ashmire.co.uk/
  6. Only trouble with North Bank is that its only available Thursday to Sunday August still has some vacancies otherwise its late October
  7. They have a couple of boat accessories I am quite interested in, they do seem to make some good little bits I think
  8. I just thought if you could get one of those wideboy type pole rollers maybe you could rest them all on it in shorter manageable lengths put them together as you ship it out, and it may make it simpler possibly, they do some kind of like a rod pod nowadays with banksticks as legs
  9. Cold tap water is probably as cold as any lake I would think, I would give it a go if they melt, i haven't had any issues recently the korda ones have been melting fine pulled a wrongun straight in and it had melted last time I was out
  10. I often wonder why you don't see more pole rollers about, makes perfect sense to me, I would if I was going to use a baiting pole
  11. The thing that put me off a match pole is what will you do if you do want more length, it's not going to be as easy to make more sections, if you are going to DIY it I would go similar to the mk2 but tbh I worked out by the time I had faffed about and made it the allthings 3d one wasn't bad value, and you get a nicer spoon and stuff with it
  12. I like a solid bag tbh, even using my boat I will still use them, if you get them right they can be deadly, especially for quick bites, and you can really get a lot of liquid in them what's not to like 🤔 I'm planning to do some next level stuff with pva this year, just waiting for the warmer weather now
  13. Its well worth watching the mk2 version to see the improvements he made too, I opted for a boat in the end as i felt is was a better all rounder for me but I seriously considered one of these https://www.allthings3d.co.uk/product-page/allthings3d-baiting-pole-configurator
  14. there nearly all northerners I think whippet friendly venue required 😂
  15. Why not do a poll? 15th - 16th Sept Or Other
  16. 15th and 16th September were the 1st provisional dates
  17. I'm still in for anything i thought horseshoe sounded a bit big and scary lol but having watched a video you don't have to be able to chuck 150 to get a bite I'm a little more comfortable with it, I'm pretty used to weed so that doesn't worry me too much, does look like a place you need to get location right though and that could be tricky with a group of us~ but I'm up for the challenge
  18. Terminal tackle UK do a loader kit https://www.terminaltackle.uk/product-category/pva-accessories/ I guess there refill bags may also fit others might be worth checking sizes, they seemed to melt OK but I prefer to tie bags as I find I can get them tighter and neater and it's less faffy
  19. I can't see them staying on with my casting 😂
  20. I also now like to tie up my bags fresh, I now use the korda bags, I think they are great tbh, I like the little yellow scoop makes it a nice easy way to do a bag, once I am about half loaded I whack in a load of goo or other liquid then fill it up, tie it off with tape, I tried the easy loader licky licky type ones like fox but I think you get a better bag when tied up neatly,
  21. If I use nuggets I always stick 1 each side of the hook, they usually seperate then and you can usually see them hit the surface, if you don't consider a rechuck
  22. Let's do a recap of my v quick overnighter, what was learnt Arriving at 10 30pm and setting up in the dark wasnt too bad, fished a swim I know like the back of my hand so all 3 rods were clipped up and sent out in the boat fine, got donks on all of them, so was confident they were fishing. I thought about using the best rigs for for the situation for boat work , also some pretty good potential uses of pva mesh to be a little different, but keeping it all simple and quick change is key, lots to think about now 🤔 Set up by midnight, asleep by 1ish awake at 5 30, couple of cuppas watching the lake started pack up at 8, Mcdonalds by 9 and home, next week I'll be on earlies so can do more investigative work in the daylight, before having to pack up in the dark at 4am 😬 But I've proved I can do the work overnighter yay, something to build on now, And modular stuff is brilliant when you need to be quick and organised highly recommend the Wychwood comforter rucksack and cool bag, Loads of positives, I was well aware I completely bypassed the main key factor though location, but that will come as I start rebuilding the bigger picture I'm pleased today anyway 😂
  23. I downloaded duck duck go and I can now view the site as god intended thanks for the tip it was driving me bonkers
