  1. Me and the girls are going again today, the dog is staying home as she is recovering from being speyed, got 1/2 pint of maggots for rudd, plus boilies and pellets all glugged to the max, hopefully we can clear out a netful of rudd again and maybe even catch a carp or two. Come on the carps
  2. Yeah mine is decent I like it.
  3. I have a wychwood mat it's great they also do a walled one that looks decent for the money https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/Shop/CarpFishingUnhookingMats/Wychwood-Tactical-Walled-Mat.htm
  4. Oops I did it again, was within walking distance and quite a bargain £36 vgc and with box, now I have to two reels that I don't really need 😂
  5. I have been trying to clear with particles this year only trouble is anglers seem to move in before the fish 😂
  6. Oh bum I forgot I had bought some breakaway leads off ebay last month 😂
  7. I've done a bit of raking in my time I love it,ideally I like it to settle down and have had a heavy dose of prebait but if needs must I have fished it there and then there is a guy that makes some good rakes called unique welding services his stealth rake is a great little tool tbh, by the time you've messed about getting the bits it's usually just as dear as buying one, I've actually bought one of his castable ones again this week but I also have the stealth rake its good https://www.uniqueweldingservices.co.uk/
  8. The pop ups always come in fine tbh, I might just have to use a hard hookbait or stick to pop ups or something, just really fancied using a snowman, just goes to show all my bait is being destroyed by them though, cos you can probably bet the freebies went first, that was an 18mm bait too, 24mm next I think 😲
  9. I used a straight from the bag one on a snowman last night it had been lightly glugged but some git had had it away and left the pop up when I reeled it in. Must have been those pesky rudd I reckon, payback for ejecting some of their family yesterday in the Rudd match,
  10. 2 nights still blanked, everyone seems to think it's gone moody recently, I just knew I needed to move, was unusually busy Friday but cleared a lot Saturday but with an entourage it wasn't happening, all in all was nice though the girls really enjoyed it it was like a mini holiday for them I think, hopefully we can get a couple more family sessions in over the summer Hols and maybe I'll even catch one, Might try being better organised next time it was quite spur of the moment and that didn't help my old brain as it did get a little stressful at points but we had some nice moments too so we'll call it a success lol I think planning is key for family fishing.
  11. We Finished 4th out of 7 with 14lb odd so not bad we just fished 1 whip between us and took shifts, my shift Was pretty much 5 hours whether I had the pole or not because I did all the slimy stuff, the lakes a lot emptier tonight so I've done some class swim poaching rather than move I went next door cast my marker and I am Fishing one rod across the next swim 🤣good angling or lazy I even used the boat 😲 got my middle rod out a bit further than last night and my other rod down the side on a nice clear spot just off some pads come on the near full moon carpies, The lake is about 140lb lighter of rudd now, still blooming loads though 😂 I forgot to say the kids were really keen to stay a 2nd night so we did 😂
  12. Yep they are still messing about and it's 11pm, I'm fishing all 3 rods in the margin can see a blank on the cards lol Apart from the Rudd match maybe should catch some of them. 😂
  13. Both kids have decided they want to come night fishing before the Rudd match tomorrow, 2 kids 1 dog, this will be interesting for sure 😂
  14. If you can pm me with your phone number when you can I will send you the payment details over 👍
  15. Yeah it's about the same as the length of my rods (good enough) 😂
  16. Does anyone else want the details to pay for the social please pm me if you do ? Edit I need ya phone number to send the details across
  17. Solid bag? They might not be able to resist one of those bad boys.
  18. Not using wraps is just fishing with the handbrake on in my opinion. Make life so much easier tbh and one of the greatest inventions in modern carp fishing. And only having to count into double digits makes life so much easier it's a no brainer. Although recently I have also started using a marker set up again. So now I can find a spot with a marker. Wrap it up the next stage is a leading rod so I can interrogate the spot I've just found around the marker. I think deepers can be great to a point but I've gone off mine recently though and just stopped using it. I think the rudd play havoc with it and give you false readings that look like weed, I also found it made me want to spend ages trying to find the perfect spot, whereas most of the time they don't exist and bait can quickly make an OK spot better that's where the rudd are quite handy 😂 To me a wrap is 12ft btw all the sticks I've owned come with a 12ft cord Someone asked me to do a review on these when I got them, Best £12 you will spend on wrap sticks tbh, they are thin and go in most grounds well and they are solid work a treat. Only down side they are quite short but that doesn't bother me really as i rarely need to go more then 21 wraps
  19. I remember seeing a "proper carper" with a set years ago and ever since I've always wanted some, I might just get another and a couple of littler rods and have a mobile set up. Or I may just use it as a 2nd spod rod reel dunno yet 🤔
  20. I just had a rush of blood to the head and bought a daiwa Emblem S 5000T off ebay, £45 I've always wanted a set of these, didn't really need it though and not quite sure what I will use it for 😳
  21. I've just sent my payment over so it's official we are going 👍
