  1. Something from bivvy tramps that stuck with me If you know it's being prebaited it's poaching , if you don't know it's good angling Your so called mate has poached your good angling and hard work, does he know what bait you use ? They are the risks of prebaiting though but knowing you have been is a low blow in my opinion, hope you go and catch more than him
  2. Can you not lift the back wheels off the ground in that situation and go for it ? I never really had an issue with one wheel though as long as it was loaded ok it would behave fairly well
  3. Tramadol isn't a very nice drug to take long term tbh, I know someone who is a lot younger than me who got addicted to it after a back issue ended up buying it off the web after his doctor refused to prescribe it and gave himself stomach ulcers,
  4. Well hopefully your luck will change and you get amongst some nice fish, that will help make it right good luck
  5. I used to have a MK2 carp porter in the good old days, couldn't fault it really never gave me any problems and I thought it handled well and never tipped for me I think the extra wheels would make it more stable , still really wishing I hadn't sold it tbh would be nice to still have it
  6. I'm not surprised really feel for you, it's not like just popping down the road, I hope you will be getting compensated and I hope it works out ok for you this week
  7. No way that's awful have you got a back up plan sorted,
  8. Cracking stuff it's certainly seems to have been a good week for you on balance, glad you have had some good fortune on your side as well and your hard work has paid off , will certainly be a week you remember excellent results 👍
  9. Thanks for the review on those might have to start with a spomb and see how i get on with it, I like using pellets so dot spod might not be the one for me, I do quite like the way the air bomb looks to work but its probably not as simple to use as the spomb, I am only using the one spod/marker rod so clipping up spomb to the same as the marker should be perfectly fine for getting bait out on the spot Cheers
  10. I use 30lb straight through with no bother i dont tend to cast that far though, the loop knot will be progression though will be handy for a quick change between spod and marker, I quite like the look of the TFG air bomb or the dot spod by Nash the dot spod looks to retrieve better than the spomb haven't tried them yet I still have a Gardner pocket rocket spod 😬
  11. its not a rowing boat is it ? you would go round in circles with your knackered arm sorry to hear about your back though that's no fun while you are away, hope it gets better soon so you can land another whacker, I get a similar thing quite often, sometimes it goes quite quickly, If you know any good yoga type stretches they can really help, otherwise more beer can do wonders for the pain especially with the tramalols 😵
  12. This could get bait out far enough possibly
  13. I've found a local feed place that does it for £15.50 I've asked for a complete price list to see what other goodies they may have
  14. I was looking at vitalin the other day I always thought it made a good cheap groundbait mix that worked, seems a little more pricey nowadays thiugh I think the method is one I wouldn't mind trying again I used to get on well with it and it seems like something that's probably overlooked these days,
  15. I think it would depend on if you are comfortable getting 2 rods on the spot, personally I have started thinking I may use this approach having one big baited banquet spot with 2 rods on, but I guess it depends on how easy it is to achieve and whether you will be confident landing them, and whether you can get your rig presented well ? That's probably only a call you can make though but I will be interested in hearing what you decide ?
  16. What you need is my top secret method Find em, feed em, then eff it right up
  17. If you need to get some particles out a bit further you could always use groundbait and catapult the balls out that should help , but tbh the margins can be great for setting lovely little traps in the summer, and you can get usually Bait far enough with a catapult i use mine more than my spod tbh good luck
  18. Looks good Highy And actually may have given me an idea to help with my garden I fake grassed last year and never got round to finishing the edge, pallets and decking board would fit a treat I reckon it's a pallet sized gap
  19. What are your thoughts on summer baiting btw ?
  20. Well I guess it depends on where you are fishing, stock levels, the result you want to achieve , what bait you are using and what methods and tactics you and others using round the lake , you just have to try and do your own thing and learn as you go,
  21. Gardner spin doctor is what those leads are called, I would strip some off first then and see if it improves the situation, you might not like the colour as much because the line is annoying you due to the issues it may get better once it settles down I haven't used it myself so can't comment on that though , I think the korda carp line colour seems to blend with the water nicely though, infact it seems less visible than the old clear was
  22. can you still get those twistbuster leads ? Might be worth taking a bit off and using one of those first it may help it settle better or maybe just whacking out some leads into the lake I usually find this helps them settle down , I got some Korda carpline in 12lb that needed a couple of longish casts to settle down on my reels but now I am starting to quite like it, it was recommended as the best of the cheaper lines in the shop, I need some heavier line and I am thinking of trying Korda subline for that, as much as I want to not like Korda they do some good bits in my opinion, I also liked the Terry Eustace pro clear line though that was my go to line in the olden days,
  23. I used some fox illusion that I have had for an age seemed to work quite well still this was in 15lb, not sure if its even available still but It did seem user friendly
  24. Thanks yonny I will have a look at those I think, I quite liked the look of the tactical as you can get in big boy version as well and it's still fairly light
  25. Hi bluelabel My chair is fine and can be carried, it's my bedchair that needs some work/replacing tbh it's an old slightly knackered jrc cocoon and 4 season sleeping bag (heavy) a rucksack may be a good idea for carrying this or another bedchair when I get some spare funds Dannygooner The pop up cradle weighs 1.65kg and tbh I would rather have it for the safety of the fish, I agree the retainer may be a luxury item that's only needed occasionally but if I can would rather have it with me just incase I need it I was using an extra rod as a marker rod but felt it wasn't needed most of the time I can use a catapult or throw bait out and if I can't I can clip up and tie a spod on fairly quickly, it's not a big lake I will be fishing, but low stock so being able to move easily will help, and I guess over time i can leave the unnecessary items at home But thanks for the input
