  2. White Acres , not sure how far from Newquay it is though .
  3. Their is no difference from run or drop back and the latching time should remain the same whether single bleep or run.
  4. It all has its place , its just how you use it , What the deeper is good especially good for is dispelling laid down in stone ,facts about the lake bed like , Old river beds , Sunken holes , gullies you get the picture , only to find none of it exists . I dont have the heart to tell someone what its really like down their.
  5. Not really, it gives you an idea from the echo return, I havnt used it enough yet , but once you know what you are looking be it depth/drop offs ect then use the marker .
  6. Have no idea about the washers inside , but mine are as smooth as when I bought them , getting on for just over 2 years now , and I fish most weekends. The QD does take abut 5 minutes to get use too, 😁 wouldnt be without it now Bit biased I know as I have always like Daiwa reels
  7. Im all for anything that will help , Deeper for instance , save hours of needless maker float work.
  8. It may as well beπŸ˜€ , I was the only one their this weekend .
  9. Dont know about the Penns but would assume they are a good reel , I have Daiwa Windcasts excellent reels , and would seriously consider the 19 Emblem 45s.
  10. Well indoors now , just missed the rain packing up , Two on Particle , Maple Maize and Fake Corn on top . 3 on Pop ups , Heres my typical pop up rig , Helicopter with Leadcore . Shimano Tribal 3;25 ,Daiwa Windcast with 18lbs Wychwood DPM Mainline Popups .
  11. Well apart from 2 liners And the rain during night I had an excellent nights sleep 😁
  12. 22:15 this came on the yellow pop up
  13. Well let’s see how this pans out , Arrived at this venue around 06:00 this morning and setup with bivvy up rods in around 07:00 Fishing three rod, 2 with pop ups and one with particle on , so far 3 fish 16-17 and 25
  14. The Ridge monkey sandwich toaster , what a fantastic piece of kit , cook anything in them and to think they were around in the 1940s ,not by ridge monkey though 😁 and I only discovered it a few years ago / Generally though I have a fry up in the evenings , Beans ,Bacon, Eggs ,Sausages/Burgers all in a large frying pan ,which I also use as the plate
  15. Defiantly Side cutters , but dont buy cheap , buy decent ones as these will cut first time and with ease.
  16. Barbless should be on all Club Tickets , to cater for all angling abilities. Personally Micro Barbed, but no problem using Barbless and do on situations where the outcome could mean I lose the fish,
  17. You may wish later to have matching reels ,if your not doing nights then a chair would be good, net and matt too I personal think second hand is a good way to get quality without the big price tag new. I only buy Mint AAA at 50 -60 % of new , save a fortune over the years ,you may have to wait but its out their.
  18. I forgot my Power pack yesterday , but had it delivered to the lake a couple of hours later
  19. I think the bottom line is , if you like to fish whit tiny rods 😁 and you feel better for it then so be it ,it suits your fishing so good luck to you .
  20. Scent from Hell no idea who makes it , hell that stinks, so much so the smell almost sticks to your nose ,id sooner go home than have to use it .
  21. I have been reading this thread and over the last couple of days ,and racking my brain as to why I would use rods shorter than 12 foot , and can honestly say I never would and have never had the need , yes I have fished tight swims as with most us ,but cannot think for the life of me that I thought my rods may have been to long . I personally think their has been some great marketing out their to make the short rods the must have thing.
  22. ""A correctly tied helicopter rig is the safest rig there is"" I do believe this too , as this is the rig I use in all situations on the bottom.Unless some can show me otherwise.
