  1. Just the job be perfect for it your not using the drag so it will last years my old Mitchell spod reel still works fine that has took some stick, no need to splash out on spod gear.
  2. The lake I'm on is real tricky found a hard spot in the middle that they will take a bait off, got it on there last weekend lost one on the take and couldn't get back on that hard spot with the recast I was close real close but no beans for the rest of the session. Will be back out this week Captain Ahab went and bought me a freezer full of bait and bits for helping him out. I was chuffed I could still do a round hard work window cleaning really do need every muscle you got everything gets a workout think its down to doing at a young age, got little muscles popping up in places they ain't been seen in years.
  3. I talk to anyone most carp anglers are a bit too aragunt for me they are far too serious it's fishing at the end of the day no need to look like a hyped up trainspotter Most of my mates have never been so much as float fishing carp angling is looked upon as a personality quirk, a bit like nesting. I can borrow a canal boat anytime I like guy can't get his head around it don't appeal much for fishing. I could of been crusing to Stratford today with captain ahab on the lash, but sunny Northampton is calling.
  4. Yep I had the same problem with a kilo mix did half of it with six large eggs five medium eggs worked better in the other half of the base mix.

    Dogs and fishing

Fred roughed up a collie last night broke free from it's owner who has no business owning a dog, Fred stayed at my side and give it a good seeing off every time it flew in, bloke was expecting me to prevent Fred from defending us both oh no the collie won't be doing that again. Fred is such a nice dog he got behind it and grabbed a leg, every time it came in Fred decked it then backed off. well chuffed with himself loves a fight that dog, not a bad one just a dog scuffle. Bloke even went to grab Fred, I was like no mate don't handle my dog get your own, obv scared of it must of been bite before thing is a hyped up colie looking to work.

Fred is a carp dog still have to have him on lead due to swimming issues but he does take vocal commands first time. took a passing dog two bites to get a response the other day I was in the lake another jack just had to fly into him nearly ended badly I got out the water just as Fred had grabbed it picked him up as soon as all four paws were lifted he dropped it he did let the dog get away with the first nip I was telling him to be nice.
  9. If you want gloves and socks look at window cleaning supplies can't get over they do gloves for window cleaners my old gaffer would of sent you home just for asking about gloves think they are the seal skin brand.
  10. I have voted for both parties before i voted tory when cameron won obv my mp stayed labour, that vote went due to me not liking blair and his lacky they stiched the hunting act into a GE really not fair that if we was a republic it would be a tyranny the masses form of democracy. I voted for every lefties pin up girl last time out Zarha Sultana will next time as well

  12. Hate to break it to you but the NHS don't do ears anymore 350 per ear at the hospital for a syringe job that otex express works or olive oil I didn't fancey the private option.

  14. It's more of a caravan site the fishing is a add on nice place though you get a few of the more genuine travlers stopping there got a bit of a hippy feel to the place.
  15. I must be the worlds oldest window cleaner mate had to let a couple of lads go ended up real stuck to get around the round in time. Not bad to be fair, thought I would be too old for it ladders are heavier than I recall, one of those jobs no one wants anymore, don't know why as you can soon build your own round up if you want to plus there is always work going I've doon it all started on houses and industrial done cradle work in London and four floor buildings off the ladder they use a pole these days for the commercial work really surprised they struggle to find young lads willing to do window cleaning. Been offered a part time position might take it things have changed they don't even collect anymore it all goes through bank transfer it was the collecting that put me off building my own round im too soft to be knocking doors the grannies would be holding out on me lol.
  16. Soz got logged out of the site when setting up a new tablet can't get into that email see I have a AD opening down the road from me next week a old bank building on the A45. That'll give lanes a wobble and a few others
