Lol I will withdraw my critique of the local garage the amount of engine parts and plating they had to remove was a bit of a job as it would be on a performance motor. I wanted to get it done properly the Lucas starter is worth the extra 40 over a recon price I didn't ask about the one they took off the garage is honest so let them make what they can on parts. 160 labour costs is fair for a SUV Mrs got better news from hospital caught her cancer at stage zero so the treatment should be minimal it's why I got the car done this week she loves it did a oil change and that some new tyres had it running smooth.

Wow I just got well humped by a local garage, mate warned me not to go there for parts, dude said he would get me a recon starting motor or try, I was willing to leave the car there for three days, same day as dropping it off rings me up to say it's done got me a brand new starter yeah I bet you did and passed full retail cost onto me he better still have the old one for me to collect or I will screw him that hard in the online reviews they will beg me to take a discount. 260 is full retail then there is a deposit to come off which is mine by law then there is the garage's wholesale account that gets them a discount from the parts supplier that's theres to do as they wish. 400 notes fitted I could of gone to a specialist and got a recon fitted for around 300 max, better still have the starter they took off.

Carp angling is a victim of itself bait companies going out fast few of the good ones too. Then there is the lake management it becomes that intense you end up feeling like your on a garden pond fishing for pets, understandable when you think how much the stock cost. I mainly go for something to do I'm tempted to go back to afternoon/evening waggler fishing on differant day tickets.

I will say the way things are with power packs the electric warmer seems best even my 20 size does my phone and ecig I reckon another one thesame size would do a heated cover.

The gas they sell in the UK, the mix is not allowed in the USA think the max is 5 percent butane not sure if that's by regulation or demand those green coleman cans are the safest in the UK they fit the Mr Buddy heaters, it's why caravans use the red bottle flow gas.
-
Sad news especially in this day and age the guy himself must of thought he was safe and should of been, the outdoor industry in this country is with out regulation it's not this guys mistake it's the equipment sold I really hope his family can get legal help as the gas they sell is a real problem and they know it, put a worthless warning on the can shouldn't make it OK to sell. Seriously if you must then find out a heater and gas that runs on propane I'm going by the gear they sell in the US you can get them but the difference between the two gases really needs to be on display in the shops.

I tempted to get a bit of bait rolling equipment problem is I can get carried away and end up overwhelmed. I don't care what they say unless they have a massive amount of ingredients that were bought in bulk and are near there best before date no way are any company halfing the price of a good bait other than a one off to clear stock at cost. Some of the companies that closed did the same cleared as much stock as they could before closing. Think whacker catcher, a very good bait has got a company to roll the bait so the Ecton Berry should be back for next year, I think they use a fermented elder berry like what essential sell, good attractor.

One thing I have noticed about hook bait rolling is the colour the companies must add a colouring to everything they make most hookbait mixes are a off white colour not at all appealing to the angler. Where ever I fish this year I'm planning the big feed approach by that I mean a 15 kilo bag of dog muesli per session with a kilo or two of boilie mixed in that O'neals brand looks good.

See if I didn't live smack dab in the centre of England, love sea fishing I like how it all runs on tide times there is no pick and choose it's getting out for those few hours when shoreline fishing.

Ban it, the leadcore leader or the lead clip?
Carpbell3 replied to salokcinnodrog's topic in UK Carp Fishing
Hey it's the rants that get people posting. Hard to find a water that does allow leadcore some lakes pretty much insists on there own preferred set up and style of fishing. Take it you haven't seen the One Last cast products they do a all included lead leader. -
I'm 50 50 on doing a bit of waggler fishing just at a day ticket type place not going out over winter can put you at a miss when starting back, I got big plans for KWP next year going up this weekend see how things are and season pass costs. Might even go full on gran pops and join the caravan club up there. Price of fuel is no joke.

The way prices are these days there's only two options for consistency either a good retail you can get anywhere or make your own, sticky, dna, mainline, cc moore that sort of bait. The small rolling companies are priced out can't run a unit for bait making back to the days of Fred in a shed knocking out a few kilo for themselves.
-
Thinking about giving canal pool a good go always wanted too if not that then maybe jigsaw just not sure if I want to be travelling for regular fishing could do KWP as a regular and do a few of the fancy day ticket waters for a treat. Sod it sounds like a solid plan to me.

Ban it, the leadcore leader or the lead clip?
Carpbell3 replied to salokcinnodrog's topic in UK Carp Fishing
Soz, did try to turn her round seems stumpy had a few posts in him after all. My leadcore comment was on point I thought everyone buys the 1 meter lengths in a pack I doubt they would uy shorter bits. You don't see many full rolls of leadcore sold I still have spool of krypton I bought over 10 years back. -

A fool that talks to people like they are dog do and when you take the rip back he stomps his foot removes your ticket then talks stinky winky behind your back, I have a ex like that the person is one seriouse bigot that needs banning from holding anysort of membership list. Short of his circle group buddies. Anyhow, enough for today on stumpy back to leadcore, nasty stuff in the wrong hands, it comes from pre packed sales of 1 meter stripes, it set the going amount to use only because it wouldn't sell in 5 to 10 ince lengths, there I stayed on topic and sorted the problem, it's all about retail. -

Better expand, the hunting act is not enforceable other than by volunteers which have caused more problems than when it was a protest. Be one of those laws that fades. -

No not really all my best fish came fishing straight through I do get a bit leader happy when things are getting grim and a change up frenzy kicks in. That's the same for most things though If you would like to expand the topic on bans in general there could be a problem with Otter fencing as it goes against DEFRAs policy on a number of different points, the containment and impediment of movent of wild and feral animals. Same for blue lake dye totally off the scale on a natural water able to host all wildlife safely. Could be some big changes comming soon for carp angling whether anglers like it or not carp are that wide spread they are invasive to natural wildlife, just like mink are. In brighter news looks like the hunting with dogs act is about to go the way of the doddo. -
Even though I haven't had a waggler rod out in years that's definitely the one and I might just treat myself to a 13 foot Harrison in a 1lb and a half test or there abouts get some large rings on it to handle 10lb line you can fish for near anything with that on any water.
-
Bet companies like Drennan will be getting shot of as many overheads as they can, I don't think they are getting much shelf space in the big stores same for their ESP range. Martin will be OK
-
Could this be one of the slowest years for carp angling, there are guys blanking on B1 and B2 I was thinking about a visit to there or similar for a runs session, the water I'm on is scary slow they just ain't coming out. Or there are not big number catches reported this year just the odd fish here and there. Next year should be fun I was planning on dropping on to a real hard water I'm now back to not knowing which bait to go with.

I had to laugh when he slipped his harness even though my vape mod and tank ended up in the brambles taking me a solid afternoon to find. Dog's a proper pikey throws his vest off before kicking off you know he means business when the shirt comes off š¤£

Oh just incase my trains tactics are called into question he is a working line jack that was left indoors for two years. Still as boisterous as ever just more controlled with it. Claiming the best spot.
-
The perfect carp dog rarely barks if att all don't go for birds real friendly with passing anglers and is okish with dogs plus he now walks off lead when on fields. Not bad seems he was never shown how to behave, still slipped his harness Saturday night same jack russell went by that he had a scuffle with last week, the russell was being carried past so Fred settled on chasing his mate around. In his spot waiting to ambush passing trade.
-
You look similar size to me get the small Proper boulders the temps are dropping this week going to be those real damp mornings and nights really does put me off hate damp clothing or bedding.

If you want to make that claim you should don't forget it's a payment to keep you with some sort of active lifestyle and not because a person is fully immobile which is what a lot of people think. My Mrs gets it and DLA before the swap over she has had lifelong hypermobility gets to be a real problem with the most basic of tasks once you get past 40 or so.
