Really annoyed by the noddy hand and that leaf , kept wriggling so much it was just a case of trying to get a pic and get it back in the end 

put it this way, there is no known numbers for otters, or even population estimate. How can something which could actually be in excess be deemed as endangered still?? I tell the people I work with that love otters that the so called 'its only nature' route is not true, as they are rehabilitated and released instead of being left to die...that is not natural... there is no argument to it which makes me chuckle when they try. If you find a dying animal then nature intends for it to die!!
It happens with every animal, including humans. i.e. without prolonging life with complex surgery and drugs there wouldn't be a failing medical service (I still blame the Government for not funding it properly). Too many otters = no birds, fish, frogs, etc. too many lions = no gazelles. too many cows = no long grass in the field.

Been having a few pike trips this year, nothing special until today. 
A ledgered pollen produced a 20lb1oz fish. Hadn't been out more than 20minutes

It's dragging the little blighters away from Bookface or Chapsnat thats the hard bit... most kids have their faces buried in a screen these days... whereas a lot of kids (when I were a nipper) were chucked outta the house to give our parents a bit o P&Q... so we went fishing... not for carp, god no.... carp were seen as the pinnacle of ones fishing achievements... nowadays kids get better gear than I had first time out and learn their craft (if one can call it such) at the Altar of The Korda Underwater series or The church of Youtube without understanding the reasoning behind the teachings....

Yeah mate they are nuts ain’t they 😂 I used to have one and she was mad for anything that moved.
I tried taking her when I was a teenager and she jumped in the water when I wasn’t looking and swam after a duck and ended up on the island. I managed to call her back but didn’t take her much after that 😂😂
Would be good 😂 it’s good on the canal/river though with strange people walk past at night, she will make herself known and they give the bivvy wide birth 😂😂😂

ive got a jack Russell and hes a true pain into everything a proper terrier could not take him hes great with ppl but rats and mice would not stand a chance id also be scared of him jumping in the water and trying to get the ducks and swans plus of a night in the bivvy the slightest sound he would be barking his head off 

id say it more to do with digital and social media now days

12week old French Bulldog "Theo"

I couldn't go without the dog, he only has to see me getting the gear ready and he is ready for the off.
 

I have a well-trained border collie and could not contemplate fishing without him. I only have to say the word “fishing” and he is at the door wagging his tail.
He will sit and stare at my rod tips all day long. He knows I have a bite before I do and lets me know.
I was walking around a local lake yesterday and got chatting to an angler. Dog barked like mad, angler looked up, realised he had a bite, and caught a small perch.
His reward is always a swim at the end of a session.
 
 

Thought I'd give you an update on this, we've done about 5 successful sessions so far, it's been an absolute pleasure. No problems at all really, she will sit and watch the birds on the lake without giving chase or barking at them, she loves meeting other anglers and always gives them a nice greeting when they come into the swim. Once the rods are out we do a lot of training on the bank followed by a some play time (no swimming or being noisy) she's a bit jumpy around catapults and still hasn't seen a fish on the bank yet, so will have to see how it goes lol.
All together though, taking her fishing is the best thing I've ever done, it's completely changed her behaviour. She used to have a few bad habits at home (nipping/biting, thought she was boss basically lol) but after a fishing session she is that wiped out she gets in the door, has some food and heads straight for the bed without being a little [censored] lol.
 

Thought the same mate, not sure how true it is though lol.
I'll let you know how it goes. Should be fine but sometimes she seems a bit possessed 😂
 

I can't wait to get back on the bank, all this nice weather is driving me nuts. If I'm not working I'm with the pooch. Which is fine but being stuck in side all the time isn't. Really is starting to take its toll 😂 I can finally start taking her walks this Wednesday coming. But still have to wait another 3 weeks until she goes back for the lepto 4 jab.
I'm not sure if its a good idea to take her fishing until she's had the lepto 4 jab because most waters I know do have their fair share of rats lol. 
Another month and I'll be doing some fishing again. Killer 😂

Not the same without my old girl with me especially on the long sessions , my new water allows dogs witch is great as she's getting on now bless her & want to make the most of the time left with her & fishing is a big part of that  . she's been on a load of socials over the years with old members off here never been a problem in fact quite often the first thing mentioned is " are you bringing Jess "
