The only reason I can think of to justify having a heater in a bivvy is if I was going to claim on mrs B B life insurance 🤔

You don’t need a bivvy heater decent bag and a water bottle and maybe a winter skin and that should be good enough whatever you do please don’t use gas heaters it’s just too risky..

  4. Different concepts with completely different objectives mate. If you want your baits to last, or become rock hard, air drying is the one. If you want to boost them, just coat them as soon as they're out of the freezer (they will absorb liquids as they thaw). You can of course air dry then rehydrate with liquids if you want to completely saturate them (to prevent them from soaking up silty substrates for example) but it's a lot of faff. Under normal circumstances you don't need to do either imo, and when bites get harder to come by on boiled baits I'd sooner switch to something else entirely rather than attempt to make them more attractive using little tricks.

Most heat sources produce carbon monoxide. really need to go safe good bag is most important. hot water bottle or a thermal cover or a 12v electric blanket even putting the unhooking mat on top of the winter skin will help a tiny bit.

If you really need to there is a couple of electric blankets that will plug into a power bank I bought one for my mrs as she always moans she’s cold saves me putting the heating on lol.

Ooh no, you don't need a bivvy heater. A decent sleeping bag for night, and good clothing for day. Too many 'accidents' with bivvy heaters, burnt down bivvies, and deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning. Even using a stove in the bivvy is a risk. Years ago a mate I used to fish with had a run while his stove was on to keep him warm, he only burnt a hole in his sleeping bag, but other mates have destroyed their whole bivvies and woken up in A&E.

Spot on mate, never used anything except a decent bag tbh. When I got into night fishing a bivvy heater was never really spoke of lol, now you're seeing things on Facebook where people are using diesel heaters etc, madness lol I like the hot water bottle idea though 👍

Yeah they are entertaining for sure, the canal seems really shallow. I liked a lot of their older vids, pure lure fishing and setting hooks like pro's cough cough noddies! 🤣👍

    Unfreezing boilies

I got into heat treating frozen boilies for a bit, straight into a bucket from the freezer, tip a couple of cups of recently boiled water on them and some hydro liquids and give em a good shake, as they defrost they soak in the liquids leaving you with a nice soft washed out looking bait full of sexy liquids, I found these could help with getting quicker bites, Haven't bothered since switching to shelf life though, maybe I should still 🤔

If you have power tools you can get a USB adapter for the batteries, about £10 I think, I think mine hold about 2 phone charges each. Also have the allpowers r600 with a 100w solar panel for long sessions. Haven't used the panel yet but the battery is a beast and haven't been able to use it all up on a trip yet 🤣

I think I've got an anker too, seems to do a few charges tbh, I bought an honor phone recently to replace a broken one battery lasts me 2 days and I use it pretty heavily, im still amaze by that because I've never had one that lasts over a day 😳 Ridgemonkey lights seem to last a while too between charges. Get one of the newer anker ones with usb C fast charging abilities they will charge your phone much faster.
