    April catch reports

Managed to sneak 3 nights in for this week to test my new rods 😏🤣 Had this one around 2am this morning at 29lb, caught it on a piece of chorizo sausage topped with half a pink wafter 👍 the rods are like broom sticks to cast with, but have got a decent back bone, enough to put pressure on the fish and turn it when its heading towards snags 👍

There’s a shallow far margin on a lake I fish that you can see the carp move along hopefully this will solved the problem of getting bait out there without spooking them.

  3. Have both tbh, the biggun is best for boilies but they will both get some bait on the spot, remember you need to set your clip between 2-3 wraps shorter(depends how you hit the clip etc but it's great for making a spread, and cast it like you would your normal spod.

    Minimising to Essentials

Did a social a few years ago for a buddy’s birthday and 2 fished on the ground like that 1 ended up with the obligatory slug on the face…. 🤢 certainly not for me especially if it’s a weekend my back would be in bits nowadays

  8. I got some new Korum digital scales for my birthday to save some space and weight saved in my rucksack. My old scale kit weighed 2lb9oz, not sure what the new ones weigh but I should think I've reduced by 2lb, Over the coming weeks I will be continuing to carry less toot with me.

  9. Most of the big fish in the lake. I only missed the big mirror that was rarely caught. I did catch the two commons that swam around with it, both 8lb, one short fat and dumpy, the other long and lean. The big mirror was not a boilie eater, it only occasionally came out on sweetcorn, yet the two commons would take boilies, but I never saw the mirror pick one up, and I was no more than a rod length away in that swim.

  10. Years ago I was fishing a local park lake, it's free, but I didn't want the locals knowing that I was there. I was arriving after dark, fishing the night and staying until lunchtime at the latest.

Off the mark with this mirror at 19lb 8oz, not the species I'm after but I will take it 🤣 nailed it on a size 2 wide gape double 20mm boilie 🤣
