    Mice

You can get various devices. I got some pest plug in things from Amazon for this winter. I still left the poison traps out but only had one dead. Previous years it has been 6+! I do back on to fields though so have a steady population nearby. the plug in pest thing seems to have worked for all manner of creepy crawlies and mice. Worth a look

Bit strong lads All I want from a cool bag is to keep the food and bait fresh and liquids cool for 48hrs and with the room for the gas and stove with a small ridge monkey and bits and bobs. And it does it in the heat of summer no problems….All in one bag.

I'll second @kevtaylor 's comment. I use a cool bag for my pike and sea fishing bait. Frozen fish will thaw out within a couple of hours, unless the actual air temperature is close to freezing. I have the original Korum ruckbag, with the silver insulated liner for food, powerbanks and a few odds and sods. A chopping board fits flat in the main compartment. Everything is boxed in Tupperware or Ice cream containers apart from the two cans of Magners currently in there. My stove, Bialetti, gas, plate and pans go into my main rucksack and get tidily sorted under the bedchair when I'm fishing, while I keep an emergency stove in the car. Yes it is a pain to have a separate bag, but if I have to barrow my gear, no matter what, it is two trips, or if I unload behind the swim from the car, it makes no difference.

Cool bags are rubbish, you need a cool box - Check IGLOO but there are others.

Problem with cool bags is you need the ice blocks and they don’t stay frozen long enough to help any. possibly keep frozen for a couple of hours. better is to use a bottle of water from the freezer and then you can get about a day out of it.

I've always had a barrow front bag for my food, was Carp Porter, now Aqua Black Series - gets all my food, cooking stuff and toiletries in. I then use one of 2 Igloo cool boxes for cold meats/drinks etc, one's big enough for a weekend, the other 4-5 nights 😎

I use an NGT cool bag ridgemonkey and cutlery etc front pocket, gas and stove, side pocket, kettle other side pocket, main compartment full of donuts, biscuits and a dinner of sorts πŸ˜‚ Brilliant bag for the money tbh, I've had others but ngt is perfect for what it does.

  12. I've been watching this instagram short and this comedian does post match interviews for things like dates and Christmas board games, it makes me chuckle so I thought I would do a fishing one πŸ˜‚

Great to get them into fishing, my daughter was with me when I caught this one, fortunately it didn't provoke a strong desire to catch one herself πŸ˜‚ but it's good to get them into it and outdoors so if that's what it takes, good luck.

I promised myself that I would stick with just a couple of tubs of pop-ups to match bottom baits, so now I have The Nutty Bait pop-ups in yellow, pink, original, my Spice Garlic pop-ups in pink, Monster Crab in purple and original, KMG in original. So far I've avoided the pineapple yellow fad again... Glad you got that sorted. Better to give constructive complaint and get it refunded than fester in your mind.

  16. One Taverham fish did get nicknamed Peanut. I took the pictures of my mate, and realised that his shorts had ridden up his legs in some of them. It wasn't us who named the fish, it was when we gave a couple of the pics to the manager that the fish got it's name.

    Anglers naming fish

I think all anglers should take a fish naming course before they are allowed to name anything or at least be interviewed by a panel of fish naming experts. Give it a bad name and you get red carded.

Exactly this, if it's going to be named choose something cool. Letting the anger choose there and then in a rush leads to the 'Kev's Mirrors' of the pond - not good πŸ˜‚ Noone cares what the anglers wife is called, what's that got to do with anything - bore off!

Basically Kev I think you are saying if you are going to name a fish, just make sure it's not terrible or boring. I mean you wouldn't name your kid big Lin would you πŸ˜‚

  21. Darenth Valley? Annoyingly the name comes up as censored, but I think I know the fish you mean. A heavily gutted fish with a recessed line down the keel line, and yes, it looked like a pair of testes in the scrotum. I agree and disagree. As I've mentioned above we do have some named fish in the syndicate lake, but we also have mystery with uncaught fish and how quickly the stock fish have put weight on.

I'm not against naming fish, just allowing anglers to choose - which normally goes badly. I'll let you off with 'Sox' certainly better than 'Jeff' maybe 'The Stripper' would have been better lol πŸ‘

    Anglers naming fish

I think naming them help keep track of how many times that fish gets caught. I've named a fish and you'd probably think it's a stupid name lol. Called it sox. Story goes: Had new boots on that day and it took me into a snag so I stripped down, didn't want to sit in wet clothes for rest of day so off came the trousers n new boots n i went in to free it from the snag in my socks and pants hence the name. Thought it would be better than calling it Jeff lol
