Get a case and screen protector which helps Iv dropped mine off step ladders and windowsills and all ok I find the iPhones tuff. …if your going for a Google phone may I suggest this it’s quite heavy but it’s safe and got 5% off

I use my ridgemonkey light on a bankstick with the flash on. Worth getting your camera settings right too. I use this as a starting point and rarely change it round. Just the f value. 1/125 shutter speed, f4-f5.6 & ISO 400

Lovely fresh spring morning. Nothing else to report, so far.....

Another night, oposite end - seen a dorsal waving around close in my water, then it lazily shuffled out 3 times. Whilst packing up it came past again to say goodbye or haha you blanked you nod. Freezing cold overnight. Good frost and ice in the edge.

Back for a night or two 👌

The first swim this morning from 7am until 12.30, not a touch. Had to move, and it immediately paid off. Both on the same rod, first before I had even cast the second rod. First one was 11lb, unhooked, weighed and returned it, bait was still in good nick, so I cast the second rod, got the first one back in, and almost instantly had the second pike at 10lb and ounces, both on the same whiting deadbait. And number 3, long and lean at 14lb on a dead coarse fish. I'm slightly miffed, I broke my chair, but still have a seat in the emergency boat. I should mention that I have a glove on my left hand. At the end of 2023 I got a severe case of blood poisoning leading to abscesses in my throat. Pike rash was a possible cause, so to avoid it I try to remember to wear a glove. They have rubberised palms and are soft leather, they were my American football receivers gloves. For the 3rd fish, the fish opened its mouth itself, and a quick twist with forceps the hooks fell out.

The last cast @ Bury Hill (Temple Lake). I'm supposed to be out of here in 5 minutes, but I think as today is the last days fishing here no one will mind. I never caught here, but it's one of the nicest and safest fisheries I've ever come across.

Sat 22nd Feb - First night on the syndi, nothing seen or heard except the thousands of birds roosting - what a place, love it, fingers crossed for a good year! 🤞
