    Bivvy Death

I think it had reached a lot of people already mate, seen it on my feed by a few different groups and people are continuing to share it 👍👍 I've got 2 hot water bottles in my hold all just incase it gets a bit too cold 👍 seems to be a bit of thing now where people wanna be sat in a toasty bivvy only wearing shorts/t shirt while it's freezing outside 👎

    New purchases

Use the power of the web put a post on their Facebook page and ask for them to contact you regarding a refund lol that seems to work a lot.. personally,I wouldn’t have used Gerry’s for coarse fishing tackle tbh and it wouldn’t matter how much cheaper they are than any others simply because they are known more for sea angling. never had a problem when buying sea tackle from them.

Never understood this stripping off for bed nonsense at any time of year tbh, I take off the outer layers: coat, salopettes, polar fleece but still fully clothed in case I get a take and have to be on the rods as quickly as possible. As has been said, quality clothing is everything in fishing and worth splashing the cash on. What are these people gonna do, run out in their pants and freeze to death - ridiculous!

    Bank Tackle

Royal Mail are correct your contract is with bank tackle as you purchased goods from them Bank tackles’s contract is with Royal Mail as they employed them to deliver your goods. bank tackle need to chase Royal Mail for you whether the goods are worth a pound or a thousand pound that doesn’t matter. that is the law under the consumer rights act 2015. A big IF IF you had paid by a credit card and you had spent 100£ or more you could ge the money back under a section 75. IF you paid by debit card you could ask you bank for a charge back. IF you paid by PayPal you could open a claim and try your luck. 90 days I think the limit is…

I know what you mean but I made the mistake years ago or "overdressing" in the sleeping bag. If it was cold, I'd wear my base layer full arm length shirt and a jumper and sometimes a fleece and I'd be cold. By wearing the shirt only, the heat you generate is retained by a good 5 season sleeping bag and you are warmer. You have to ensure your coat is easily available to grab if you get a run in the night otherwise you could freeze outside.

Sorry to hear your bad news Nick. Carbon Monoxide is known as "The Silent Killer" as it is odourless and as you breathe in, it makes you sleepy. As you sleep, you breathe in more and the concentration increases. Oxygen is readily attached to the blood and released, CO holds on 400 times more strongly and blocks the Oxygen from attaching and you die. I would never use a bivvy heater, candle system or cook inside. If it is that cold that you think that you need external heat sources, go home, the fish ain't feeding!

    Bivvy Death

To be honest I'm more upset at the abuse and threats in public and via Messenger I received about my post on FB because I also know the second angler who died in the bivvy and his mates assumed I meant him. Even Ann-Marie got upset about it as she felt the abuse was taking away from her point. At the time of my FB post I didn't know it had happened and found out later that day!

    Bivvy Death

I don't know how many times I have been playing a fish trying to get my jacket and boots on at the same time after grabbing the rod. Putting left foot in right boot, and then struggling to get them off to put it right. Humour aside, I have a trip to Essex as his partner is donating his tackle to charity although I know some is not saleable as its so old and well used, it's my second hand bits. Ann-Marie is distraught and my teenage godaughter is wondering about her stepdad. Even worse is I know of another this week in almost identical circumstances.

    Bivvy Death

I have shared the post almost word for word on my Facebook timeline and messaged it to some high profile friends, CarpWorld and Carpology. I purposely haven't named the angler as family need some time, respect and respite. Just after getting that phone call I got another one, another friend died at the lake from a suspected heart attack. He'd started packing up, felt rough as he got back to the car, phoned a friend to get help, and the friend found him in the drivers seat.
