    Slip D Rig

I'm not happy with the slip d multi style either now after a little trial. Land a fish and the kicker is off so if you were to get done the rig is left useless IMO plus the impact of the lead is lessened if the hook is able to move. Don't like the faff of steaming shrink tube so not going there. I've continued with the slip D but just tied standard style last trip, but working on a version using the hook clip now but the kickers are not made specifically for them yet, best so far the Gardner Tungsten XL but still not easy to get over the clip, work in progress. Nash ones supposed to be good but no stock. Yes I did say pointless hook clips previously lol I'm fighting with the concept of changing hooks which is great but not if the finished rig isn't as good as one tied standard style, saving materials is not really that important in the grand scheme, I like tying rigs anyway and adapting as I go so this new interest in changing hooks needs putting right down the priorities list for me. Was also using funnel web bags last trip which you cant with a multi and I loved using them, was a blast from the past and something I'm gonna use regularly this year.

    Hooked on a water

That's sad you feel driven away from somewhere you like, don't want to rock the boat but equally want to smash his face in πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Bailiffs hey where do they find these trolls? They camp in the best swims, talk BS, sheep you up then try to get you out coz you're better than them - joke situation! My syndi seems to have more bailiffs than members lol

    Hooked on a water

I get all this, im back on a club complex i fished way back in 2007-2009, i feel like im home again, just feels so right being back here but yet to catch, and its well stocked 4 acre lake with around 170 carp. I will say its really well run, as tidy as can be, proper made up being back on here

    Hooked on a water

Strangely enough on Nazeing the bailiffs were the opposite side of the coin. They did do a ticket check almost every day. In the rules it was 'no wading' so when I had a fish snag me up I did go in for it to get it out from the undercut where it had caught up in the roots. The bailiff had heard my alarm and came round to help and approved my actions. He also took the pics of the bionic common that was only just 20lb. Another bailiff would happily tell you (or me) where they were baiting, and while I never knowingly went into the swim if I did know, I did once by accident on seeing a fish show. He shrugged it off as he knew how much I walked around the whole complex. Or Gary, walking around in the dark about 6pm in winter, Sky heard him and barked, so "oh Hi Nick, no worries Mate I know you have your ticket". I did have one bailiff who @kevtaylor I will use your word, mine wouldn't be so polite, troll, didn't like me fishing. I used to fish a Saxmundham Angling Club water called Loam ponds, and one of my favourite swims was right next to the 'no fishing bay, not in the rule book, but he didn't like people fishing in there. I used to sit on the ground or leaning against a tree about 2metres from my rods watching the fish swim along the treeline and go into the bay. It wound him up something chronic as I 'wasn't in my swim'. You could guarantee as soon as a car pulled into the car park, 20minutes later he would walk over. I really wound him up one day, as well as my club ticket I put the rule book in my pocket, and fished a tiny stalking swim on the far side of the bay next to the pumphouse. 20minutes after arriving, "You can't fish there". My reply was along the lines of "its a swim so yep I can". "I'm a bailiff, it's in the rules, you can't fish in the bay". Out came the rule book from my pocket and turned to specific Loam Ponds rule pages, and swim map, there was my swim marked nicely with a number 15. His face, strangely enough he never bugged Bruce or me again, although sadly the original Leney carp were lost to otters and the water was taken over by a syndicate.

    Slip D Rig

My spinner rig does work with wafters, the d rig kickers lend themselves pretty well to a wafting hookbait, I do think the the double B shock rig, might be effective for stopping them being able to get away with it, next time I go I will be using it, and with a pva bag clip on the swivel would make a decent little trap.if you want some decent bulk PVA mesh these are good. https://www.westmorepvamesh.co.uk/MobileIndex.php

    Slip D Rig

Might take you up on the Elmo rig, sounds banging! Became obvious on last 2 trips to Kingy that my trusty pop-up rigs were not getting touched, whereas wafters were, then on the first trip realised I needed to be back on the funnel web, so another prob to solve, which I think gets the best out of me Tbh Both trips I was doing rig and lead system trials side by side, loved it, more to come. My initail stiff rig multi trials were going very well for hooking but then the sods used the semi fixed lead to shake it after dropping back, crafty, but I knew that before I arrived, just wasnt expecting it quite so much in Dec. Must have been done on dropbacks at least 6 times over the 7 nights in total and they're the fish you're there for not the stockies who know no better than pick it up and run. By the last night I had 3 matching wafter slip d's, short like 4-5 inch and running lead clips but sadly no activity for the last 48 hours so didnt know if I'd sorted the issues or not, but really I think I had but long wait to test again down there, Dec 2025 πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Slip D Rig

What you just said makes me think deep down you want to try my spinner rig and that's fine it really is pretty great 😎. Avid d rig kicker (best d rig kicker) , spinner swivel, whatever boom you fancy, korda balancing weights for pop ups, quick hook changing, similar hookbait seperation, much less faff and comes tried and tested by me πŸ’ͺ Also if you are thinking of mesh bags you also need the double "beep" shock rig, I think it's a winner πŸ˜‚ Good luck with whatever you choose though.

    Warm Socks

I can’t go down the road of Merino socks, my feet would rip them apart, picture the bark of a very old oak tree πŸ€” that’s what the soles of my feet look like. Just a bit lazy looking after them I get the black and decker sander out now and then when they get really bad.

    Hooked on a water

Only ever had one membership cancelled that was due to a clash of personalities between myself and a longstanding member turned up one day and didn't just get told which peg to fish but escorted to it, me being me well you can guess the rest. They was always looking for a reason after that, never could find one angling wise, never so much as left dog fur in my peg when leaving, had enough in the end so I gave the lads something to grass me up for lol.

    Hooked on a water

I've got a water that is right under the skin, my current syndicate, although I'm not sure if it's Chestnut who goes 42'ish or the big uncaught common I and others have seen. 45acres with around 165 carp, so it's not overstocked, and is in a private estate. The growth rate of some of the fish has been phenomenal! Please! I really loved Alton Water and was catching a few, but the problems got me to the state of apoplexy; Eastern European anglers casting lures across anglers lines, I had the same two cast across me two days on the trot. The amount of barbecues and rubbish left on the bank got ridiculous by said Eastern anglers. I would frequently fill a bin bag and call the bailiff if I was a long way from the car park bins so he could put it in the buggy Parking became a nightmare, worrying about your car being safe. When I complained about the problems, I was told my ticket would not be renewed. Let's just say I'm not a fan of the reservoir manager or Anglian Water.
