    Is it cheating to.......

I generally use around 12” wide bars on the front and as small as I can on the rear.

Bite lights for my spod /marker float , I think this will be brilliant for night spombing and sneaky baiting https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C5uMRH126/ and some pva bag swivels

  7. No no no you’re doing it all wrong! No camou tape on the rod butts, no dinky 3 rod buzz bars, where if you get a take on the middle rod, you can’t strike it without knocking off the other two, no folded reel handles… barely even trying also, 12ft rods?? That’s so 1990s… where’s the 6ft sawn offs and bread bombs? 🙄

    Today's thought.

Been doing a couple of sea beach trips lately and I was faced with convincing a rag worm to get on a 2/0 hook. A beach walker came up to ask have i had any fish. I had the worm in one hand and the hook in the other and said to the guy last time I baited up was in 1986 not sure I can do it 🤢 He laughed and I just got on with it. Got a pouting on the worm knocked the fish on the head and put that on a bigger hook and catch a small conger. ..but for a moment I struggled. In the past had no problem with peeler or hardback for smooth hound or live bait I could never eat a lobster, crab or prawns, ok with fish and the best tasting one Iv had is pollock, which was on the bbq within 30 mins of catching it yummy !

  10. As Yonny says the Fox pods are solid and good value, I used a Quatro pod for a good 20+ years and it looks bang on still now. My mate had the x Pod Plus another great bit of kit for the money. I'd much rather a second hand older fox pod than a cheap new one from someone else. đź‘Ť

  11. I tried a pod a good few years ago and just did not get on with it so now use Solar bank sticks with 2 rod cross bars, plain and simple it works for me

  12. My pod, I do tend to push down hard into the ground if a can, you can always put a small bungy over with pegs holding down.....The Avid Pod is supplied with a strap and pegs for this reason. I've had many a Pods but always go back to thus style/design

  13. The Fox Black Label QR pod gets good reviews, Avid Lockdown pod also....but with being a "Pod" there will always be stability issues, unlike Banksticks.... I've had a take and the pod went over, even with a looses(ish) clutch.

  14. He's after something "rock solid" Nick. That RH pod is about as solid as a strong cup of tea. @The woodcutter at low budget you'll be looking at something like a Fox X Pod (probs 50-100 notes second hand on ebay). Cheap and not the best quality out there, but certainly solid. If you want to spend more the world is your oyster - just let us know the budget mate.

  15. As Yonny says, what's your budget? Value means different things to different people and to me value was a pod that lasts, I think I bought my Solar P1 pod around 2016, so in terms of value it's lasted, and still in use, but Solar stainless is not cheap, the current equivalent is probably around ÂŁ500 Then we have a bit more budget, but Rod Hutchinson make the Enduro pod at around ÂŁ100 https://rodhutchinson.co.uk/product/enduro-rod-pod/
