    I agree with the above. In summer, that period following a downpour seems to be the one. You really notice it on that odd occasion there's no wind, it's warm, the rain stops, and immediately you start to see fizzing all over the lake. It's a lovely sight.

    i get to go fishing so rarely these days i would actually love a day in the rain listening to it and the odd sense of quiet it brings, as for catching though i tend to find i have done really well on my little water after a heavy downpour and often stayed longer than i planned as it has been productive.

    How bad is the rod ? I snapped the top 2 ft of a beach caster turned it into a uptide rod that was when it wasn’t a thing The looks I had off the club mates and even a skipper on a charter boat 🙄 Can you get a spare part for the reel ?

    That looks good. I'm sure my mate Will has one, I know it's comfortable on the ground, for obvious reasons I have not used it while on his bedchair. I'm sure you've seen my post about the Solar Chair I got, those legs are good; self extending on pushing the button, and the chair is comfortable.

    To be fair health and safety first and all that there was a couple of claps of thunder in the rain… I was due to go out on the boat at the weekend 35mph winds so I bottled it lol

    I can just picture Yonny shaking his head in disbelief ; Yonny due to family commitments can't go fishing , and I'm handed perfect conditions , and then I bottle it ! . Lesson learned then chaps . I did have a poorly toe that I thought I would rest ; now it's Nick's turn to shake his head as he still battles on with all his health problems . 😔

    I think generally I feel more confident before, during and after rain, it's a weather event and can trigger feeding. You blew your opportunity - just like Yonny says lol 🤣 In all honesty I think I've packed up during rain and bought back soaked kit less than a handful of times over all those years, theres usually a window to get the job done.

    I always wear my ambler boots. I practically live in them. The grip on them are amazing and they're waterproof. They do get a bit warm in the summer but I just slip them off as they also have a zip aswell as laces, so nice n easy to just leave the laces done up n slip them on n off using the zip

    I mentioned the Solar chair last week (?) It got its first outing this week, and I like it! It is not as low as I was expecting and the extending legs are good. Get the back level, and to extend the legs, push the button and they automatically extend to full. I've put full weight on it, on uneven ground, and the legs stay in place. The added head rest cushion, attached by a locking strap is a nice touch, although I've taken it off.

    Yeah mate very disappointed with myself. That's me back on the wagon now 👍🤣 quite a few 20s and a couple 30s came out of the water I was gonna fish 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Looking at the bank balance this morning and seeing the price I was paying on rounds is soul destroying 🤣🤣I'm trying to forget the rubbish I was waffling, hopefully I don't bump into them for a while 🤦‍♂️🤣
