  3. Probably best to avoid it then, a horlicks on its own isn't a bad alternative though,

  4. Must be nice having a government that wants to help its people a bit 😉

  5. It is just the French government knocking 30 cents/ litre off petrol (roughly £1 per gallon). We used to nip over to Spain for cheap petrol, now they come here. It is the EU however who are going to force the energy companies to pay for the energy price cap rather than dump the cost on us poor consumers.

  6. A drop o' the Irish!? That'll be going on the boilies. I know it seems like a waste but I've been teetotal over 10 years, so no issue for me

Is that your experience with petrol in a stove? Apparently quite different using Coleman fuel (white gas/naphtha). Certainly cheaper than using butane/propane too.

Horrible mate, dirty, smelly, times have moved on imo. As Kev said, propane/butane mix is the one👍

Hell yeah, I'm all about enjoyment, fishing is a treat and I like to eat and drink well, a tiny stove and food bag is as essential. I take a flask on the boats but its nowhere near as good and neither is cold sandwiches tbh Tony the Bluebell owner wrote that good hot food and drink and being warm make you fish more effectively and I've always thought he is dead right.

  11. At the other end of the scale but along the same lines --- I had just landed a fish when this very old chap who had been fishing not far from me came up to take a look and the conversation went something like this. “That’s a nice fish” he said “Thank you. Do you fish here often”? I asked “once or twice per month” “any luck? “Oh I’ve never caught a fish – I just like fishing”

    Thought of the Day pt.2

Well.....was my birthday yesterday and it all went down hill from the moment I woke up. Wife got me a few bits for fishing, new Sonik Bobble Hat, n some bits.... THEN, on my way work the DPF light came in car, so I took it to motorway and gave it a good 30min blow out, thought it cleared it, then had an oil leak starting after that. Woke up this morning and it was like an oil bath, ring as many garages as I could find in Wigan, and on about the 20th he's fitted it in today....NOW problems are, Whistling Turbo, Leaking Turbo, Cracked oil pan, Broken Oil Seal, Broken Oil Plug.... £300 + and will get it back Wednesday..... Today I was going to book Cudmore for my birthday also off the Wife, but that has beenet down like a lead balloon....
