Floss for me pierced and blobbed. if you’re worried about losing a bait you can always tie on a stop. I have rarely ever lost a bait no matter how hard I’ve chucked out or how much weed I’ve had to reel through!

For the last 10 years or so, I have been using a Lafuma reclining chair. It is not meant for carp fishing and weighs in at a hefty 7.2 kg BUT you can sit in a completely relaxed, reclined position, then when you get a bite, push your legs out and you swing forward (almost propelled into a standing position) and take care of business. tried all methods, bait screws are good until a bird attacks your bait then you are left with the did it stay on moment, floss is good but not 100 % the best i have found for margins and shallow water is the gardener bait band and boilie stop, it's the belt and braces of the chod rig.

Floss for me. I pierce and blob standard pop ups. I even pierce cork balls (v carefully) but I'll tie a boilie stop on for these.

Dental floss for me. Tie it around your pop up and then tie to ring. Keeps your pop up much more buoyant if you don't pierce it.

I use dental floss, no carp tax!!

Cut a length of bait floss or braid, thread through rig ring, double it over and pull through the pop-up with baiting needle, then lighter tag the doubled end.

I use metal bait screws

I know it doesn't get light until about 7.30/8 am, but I'll be there for about 6am... Pop Ups will either be Sticky White/Yellow Manilla, Pink Krill in Krill Supreme, Yellow Pineapple in Pineapple Supreme + Isotonic, Sticky Mulbz in Korda Isotonic Goo. ALL my Zig baits are soaking in Hinders Golden Betalin.

Only fishing 2 rods, deffo 1 on a pop up... Just can't wait be out

Had 4 more today, biggest 14lb, others of 9 and 10. Final fish was a 5lb scamp Jack that picked up the smelt on the retrieve I use a single in 4 or 6 up the trace and a treble at the end.
