  1. I am lucky enough to be able to collect them direct from the growers in the Valencia region of Spain. The bonus, apart from being able to choose the biggest and freshest tiger nuts at a sensible price, is they make a delicious milk from Tiger Nuts called horchata. If you are ever there on holiday i the region, I recommend you try some. It is so easy to prepare. Just soak then boil then let it stand for a few days until it is irresistibly gooey to carp. I have never tried ready prepared nuts but cannot imagine them being as good.

  2. As the title says, what’s been your scariest moment carping? Today, whilst fishing, I experienced someone hiding behind the trees and heavy breathing, this was at night time. I shone my head torch on for what ever it was to run off. packed up most of my gear in two minutes flat and then I get a run on the rod that was out. quickest landing, unhooking and pop back I’ve ever encountered. Plus sides, I’ve obviously still got it. I also didn’t blank... So what are your tales?

  3. At least you two aren't fishing on my baited spots any more 😂 That reminds me must take my boiler suit to the dry cleaners, 👹👻 Seriously though I think I might done a Todd in my pants and packed up too, no need for that sort of behavior at night when you are fishing 👀

  5. To clarify, when I say they were v poor, I mean compared to what you can do yourself. They were usable. Agree, all the Dynamite Frenzied range is great. But it wants to be - it costs 5 to 10 times more than most prepared particle suppliers.

  6. That says something to me! If Yonny had some bad ones from Monster, and yours 'aren't right', a bit vinegary, (even if delivery was delayed) personally I would avoid Monster Particles. When it comes to ready prepared particles, those in the containers by Dynamite, I have found to be the best, as they are actually cooked in the container I believe. As Yonny says, preparing your own gets best results and you know what they are like. I normally do all my own particles, I can experiment with soaks and solutions, but to be honest, in most cases particles are most attractive and need no extras than soak and boil/simmer. Adding chilli, garlic or whatever rarely makes them any better than the standard. Tigers are a soak for 24hour minimum, and then boil for around 30mins.

    Olives?

As the resident greek here I can safely say I’ve never heard of them being used as a carp bait. No reason not to give them a try but there are plenty of better options for baits available

Well it's another week of baiting done, am hoping to do what I called a luxury baiting session at the weekend a very quick overnighter, but not sure how that's sitting at present it's a bit like indigestion for now 😁 There is definately a change in the swim this week, no pike strikes noticed and the spots seem to become active as soon as I've baited them still loads of rudd etc but they seem more relaxed if that makes sense, then some slightly bigger fish seem to move in, probably tench and bream as the swirls get bigger, still no definate carp sightings but hopefully they are also visiting to see what the kerfuffle is, just got to keep plodding on and hope it's happening while I am away, 😁 Tight lines all
