Could always try baiting a few likely areas with some pellet/hemp/maize - get the carp to make a firm spot that they associate with feed?

I still can't help looking at bait companies websites to see what I am missing lol but I've learnt to just look 😁 Its funny though but nowadays I think it is relatively simple, you get a decent bait in the right spot, with the right rig to suit your baiting approach/conditions and hopefully you will catch one at some point, if you get the timing right and they want to feed and happen to slip up while your there great 😁 I am not often that right and it rarely goes the way I think it will, but I'm focusing on the more important stuff like Location and accuracy and creating the right feeding situation rather than what rig, bait, set up will work best, I know my hooks are sharp and my rigs present well enough and should reset, that takes a lot of the headaches away and I can actually sit back and relax and enjoy my hobby even if I am blanking 👍

Snowman or double bottom baits soaked up to the hilt with pellets crushed boilies gbait. Then locked up. Two foot from rods ripping takes then you start shaking big style.

Fish it in the winter hopefully the weed would have died down by then less anglers to.

Can you fish floaters on there? Just thinking with this weather you may be able to get them feeding on top of the weed or around the edge of it maybe Something visual in your bait like sweetcorn may help them find your spots too, I might also consider this as a good option too may take a little while but would probably pay off in the end 👍

Go back to the method but with high pressure the fish are highly unlikely to be on the bottom try fishing off the bottom under a float 😉

  9. Did you actually see someone or just hear heavy breathing? I don't want to be funny but are you sure it wasn't just a hedgehog?

  10. Beware of Chinese copies. I had a few, low quality, easily dented and run the risk of getting cut off on sharp edges.

  11. I used to fish running leads a fair bit ... personally I wouldn't use a lead smaller than 3 ounce , as you want it to stay put , also the least friction as possible so ditch the tubing no need for it mate .

I started thinking about this a bit and how you said it, and it seems this is what most people when they are asking questions like the above are missing, myself included, I wasn't blessed with a natural self assured nature, and it can be quite easy to look at small things in fishing and turn them into big things and issues, what us people that ask these questions are missing is CONFIDENCE, the way you phrased that yonny and I don't mean it in a disrespectful way is almost arrogant, like you WILL empty the place, and quite frankly that is probably the difference between some anglers that do regularly catch and those that don't, it's the belief that what you are doing will work, but I've started to understand this also a bit, you don't need fancy rigs and bait etc more determination and consistency, it's more belief and being on the journey that will lead to the success, we get it wrong, sometimes we need to change things, but one day it clicks and then like you, I will also empty the place, for now I am happy being on the journey that is what we all have to go through to get to this point tight lines all 👍

  13. As the title says, what’s been your scariest moment carping? Today, whilst fishing, I experienced someone hiding behind the trees and heavy breathing, this was at night time. I shone my head torch on for what ever it was to run off. packed up most of my gear in two minutes flat and then I get a run on the rod that was out. quickest landing, unhooking and pop back I’ve ever encountered. Plus sides, I’ve obviously still got it. I also didn’t blank... So what are your tales?
