Hi Yonny, Where can I buy size 2 hooks for stiff rigs? I couldn't find any online. The closest I've got is a Korda wide gape in a 2. I tied up a rig with the size 2 wide gape and a 16mm cork ball hookbait. I had to steam it because of the line exiting angle. It does look lethal.

The colour doesn't affect the process which is what you were questioning originally though. I guess it makes them more saleable as most pop ups are bright. I take it you have read the part about the process though? Also you are now calling them liars, even though you don't really care. π So you can't recommend any but having not tried them you are keen to slate specialized hook baits. Also you spelt your best mates name wrong It's Bryan Jarrett. π

I so wish a mate hadn't said about SHB as a Xmas pressie.... wouldn't have even thought about them before π However, as you suggested, from the website. Quote: "We are often asked why our hook baits do not come in bright colours, as that is what people generally associate with a pop up. A bright colour may provoke a response from twenty feet, we would far rather provoke a response from 200 yards through a carpβs amazing sense of taste. " Err.... I see all, but one are now in bright colours, seriously, who do you believe? π Shame people selling stuff on line actually checked stuff on their web sites π

tbh, mate, none, so many out there, wouldn't have any idea? ..... If anyone is interested I have a few tubs of Sticky baits pop ups that I use very rarely and they still work

Might just mean the seal isn't as good or not fitted correctly or needs replacing. or maybe it needs a good clean is it an underlit or the side led type? The deluxe receiver is the best upgrade you can make tbh. -

Eventually I managed to get a great deal 2nd hand bundle of 5 atts-silent-alarms, sold 2 of the alarms on with the old receiver ...AND for myself bought the New Deluxe Receiver...must say I LOVE 'em they are supper ...imo BEST BUZZERS ever! got a question, 1 of my alarms is tricky to replace the battery, in other words the back cover does NOT come away from the alarm unit, like the other 2 - does this mean this was an early original alarm? thanks for any info! - Yesterday

Looks good dude, you could also use a sz11 but with a korda balancing weight (the ones that sheath the swivel) but it will work just fine as it is.

Hi, Does anybody use a size 8 swivel instead of putty and a size 11 swivel for their hinge rigs? I can balance mine perfectly with a size 8 Korda PTFE ring swivel (cutting the ring off with crimp tool) and an ESP large balance bead. I would like to know if anyone else has had success using it set it up like this or something similar using different components? Thanks

Thank you.

Thanks Kev. π Thanks Kev π

Couldn't be more wrong, greekski, not allowed to post on the other forum for a few years π Apparently I upset another member on there who was also banned too, way before SHB

Pretty sure heβs gone in to some level of detail about the process and how long it takes. Also in to how the cure works on the baits and why. I thought I recognised your style and tone from the other forum. end of the day, you donβt think they are worth Β£22 a pot, plenty do. Personal choice eh. As Iβve said, canβt deny the baits catch plenty of fish and they are used by plenty of sponsored anglers on the sly, or more recently publicised that they use them. This speak volumes on its own when people that get free hookbaits chose to buy something different. plenty more expensive air balls out there that are nowhere near as effective based on catch reports. Massively publicised in mags and things, SHB is irregular social media and a paid for thread on a forum and has an incredible customer base. Again, that says a lot. Enjoy your fishing as you say, probably donβt focus on continually trying to discredit SHB. Especially when you obviously have no idea about what goes in to creating the baits π€·π»ββοΈ

With repect mate, from another forum I dip into, this bloke not actually shared anything about a 3 week process? Maybe you know better and would share? Anyway. guess the guy will have made loads of dosh from his well documented elsewhere exploits on gambling winnings π Think I will dip out of this thread now, probably going to be a lot of his 'fan boys' his phrase defending the 'company', coming on here if they even know it exists? Just for others, don't be taken in by a lot of bullsh*t about bait, been going on for sooooo many years.... just do your own thing and enjoy being out on the bank π

I really don't follow your logic then, you are disagreeing with people purely about the cost. When you read the process they go through it doesn't seem that expensive to me, especially when you are comparing it to a tub of off the shelf pop ups that need a bait spray, glug or whatever to make them standout ? Some pop ups are overpriced I agree but these actually go through a 3 week process other than just rolling and boiling.
-
Actually mate if you are referring to SHB, I would never buy any, and wouldn't from any of the new 'companies' with hookbaits that seem to be on line now. I am not opposed to SHB, tbh couldn't give a t*ss, just feel that so many anglers are buying a pot of hookbaits that, imo, are so overpriced, just trying to put another point of view that's all π
-
That's a can of worms Kev, I'm sure someone will be able to assist but I used Co pilot to try and understand bio active ingredients a bit better. Still don't properly but this is something I learned which may help π± π
-
I assume we're still talking about these special baits at 20 quid a pop. What I don't understand is were paying for a curing process with active enzymes/ingredients? Surely the active elements only last a short period then it's just a normal bait? never understood this part.
-
So if cheapo airballs and a tub of glycerine are 17 quid in todays money, 22 quid for a pot of SHBs is starting to sound pretty good imo. Pays your money, takes your choice, innit. Imo that's largely irrelevant on a thread about SHBs. On the right day I'd take a tub of black foam over any proper hookbait, but this thread is about hookbaits.
