LC1975 Posted yesterday at 00:00 Report Posted yesterday at 00:00 Hi, Has anyone done well on Trent SAS Squid? I purchased a kilo of each SAS Squid, Shrimp and matching cork ball pop ups. They both look and smell amazing, I'm torn between the 2 and am looking to bulk buy soon. I see online lots of folk rate the shrimp, not much info on the SAS squid. Squid flavoured baits do well on my lake, but shrimp sounds like it can't be ignored. Thanks Luke Quote

I started off using Shrimp and Squid in 15mm frozen , but eventually was able to switch to stabilised . I wanted to go down in size to 12mm and there was a minimum order , at the time , of 5kg ,and I couldn't afford to buy both , so I went for the Squidy goodness . I recently bought 1kg of 12mm Shrimp , and ran both the Squid and Shrimp together , but I find I radiate towards the Squid . I'm not saying the Squid is definately better than the Shrimp it's just that I have more confidence in the Squid - I guess I just like the smell ! . 😃 Quote
LC1975 Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Hello mate, Thanks for the detailed response, The Squid does smell good, funny how it's only us anglers that appreciate the smell, my mrs says it stinks! lol!! I've got some shrimp in shelf life, do you use shelf life exclusively now? I've dabbled with them in the past. lost one on my last outing after baiting with Trent Shrimp shelf life only. Trent said about mixing both but that fried my brain even more, I only like to use one boilie. With a quality name like SAS (who dares wins) makes me think it will be the squid. Lets see, its a biggie for me changing. Thanks again pal. Its much appreciated! Quote

Hi Luke Funnily enough my Wife is very reluctant when I suggest she smells my boilies , these ladies just don't know what they're missing ! . I only use the stabilised ,which are marketed as an improvement to shelf life , but my stabilised have lasted considerably longer than they are supposed to . I read an article by Shaun Harrison in which he said he liked to use 2 different flavours and colours concurrently . Whatever you do decide , Luke , tight lines . 😃 Quote
