  1. Are Yonny thats why I didn't say stomach the system can still get full though I would have thought ?
  2. This will end up going round in circles , there's no benefit to using raw other than saving time preparing . It's one of those situations where you don't need hard evidence just logic ! Some times trying to win an argument /debate is not worth it .
  3. We know carp can be greedy when feeding , say they fill them selves 95% full with raw maize what happens if it swells before the digestive system breaks it down , just not worth even considering . No testing in jars is ever going to give you an answer .
  4. Please make sure you soak and boil the maize before use . Used raw can result in killing fish due to the swelling of the grain occurring in the fish . I like fishing simple and use maize on some waters hair rigged and using a float ,beats sitting behind alarms .
  5. Same here , if I'm by any water my wife says I know what your thinking as I just stare looking out across it or looking for any signs of fish .
  6. Good point , didn't think of checking I use fishmeals .
  7. I like these guys https://www.retrobaits.net/products-1 ,
  8. Are you bored with fishing or bored with going through the same routine on the same water sitting behind rods on alarms ? There is far more to fishing than the above , maybe ask yourself what aspects you still enjoy . If is being out in the countryside then do you need to fish ? I like being in the open by water , my favourite way to catch carp is traveling light using a carp rod with centrepin reel and fishing sweetcorn on the float , yes you get roach , rudd ,bream tench etc but to me thats half the fun not knowing what has taken the bait until you strike ok some waters you can't fish like this but on the ones you can its certainly fun especially when the 'buzzer brigade ' keep sticking there heads out of there bivvies lol. Location is also key I've swapped clubs this year and although some of the waters are nice there not run very well , so i'm going back to my old one further to travel but far more peaceful and as a general rule more respectful anglers . As Yonny says take a break , then maybe walk around some water just to see what your head/heart tells you.
  9. That would be my worry as well , any thing that is breaking down in water could do more harm than lead . As a customer and more so if I owned a fishery I would want to know what they are made of , just because they are biodegradable doesn't mean they are safe for fisheries .
  10. HaHa , where have I said what bank sticks I use
  11. Nice fish @bluelabel , hard to believe you caught them on short hook lengths and no stainless banksticks
  12. Alot of Essex lakes/pits have started
  13. The big danger of fisheries banning leads is that if they are not careful the replacement could be far worse for the water/fish .
  14. Yonny , my point exactly thats why I would like to know ( i have a theory :))
  15. Nick , I no where your coming from and agree with most , but the OP stated some fisheries are banning lead next year so question is really aimed at the OP as to telling us what fisheries are .
  16. If i run a fishery I would want to know what they are actually made given the fact they are going to break down , I would still like to know what fisheries are banning leads .
  17. can you tell me what fisheries are banning leads
  18. ~Out of interest what fisheries have you heard that are banning lead ?
  19. Why try and reinvent the swimfeeder .
  20. Depending what else is in there , float fish with sweetcorn , this will very often out fish other methods on runs type waters .
  21. You need - https://britishaquafeeds.com/ , although unless you really want to do your own its not worth the hassle as you can get great quality ready mades.
  22. Didn't look right or didn't work ? You'll be getting the tape measure and spirit level out next lol
  23. I just find single sticks to be so versatile , I use running leads alot so like my rod tips inline with the rig ,the rods do end up at some odd angles but thats never been an issue. If am confronted with a platform then I'll fish the rods to the side from the bank or if not to deep the front sticks in the water and just rest the butts on something like my bait bucket . For me a pod is last resort just not for me I'm afraid . I'll try and do some rod shots although some of the OCD types may have to look away
  24. single sticks for me , don't like pods .
