  1. I wouldn't have even mentioned anything on social media at all , let alone mention catching and seeing 30's plus rod shots showing locations . Simple -don't want others cashing in then be super secretive and resist social at all costs , if your going to give clues and hints then don't moan when others take short cuts .
  2. Posting on public facebook pages probably hasn't helped
  3. Micro barbed for me , on your water and would defo use micro barb as I would be gutted to loose one if it weeded me I think you've got more chance of the fish still being on if you have to go slack when weeded . If Nash was that worried he would stop selling barbed hooks , can't see how you can get more takes if the hooks are sharp then by the time it penetrates to the barb its to late and the fish is hooked .
  4. I haven't no , I use the Shropshire gold and Meaty garlic . Not keen on the wafters as they are cork dust ones but the pop ups are good . Great service as well , I'm sure they would send you a few samples if not let me know what you want to try and I'll add some to my next order and send some samples over to you to try .
  5. May have been me I'm using them at the moment very good baits , price and service . There are aa good number of quality bait firms now though . @Macca187 what area are you based , you may have a bait company on your door step .
  6. Worth seeing if you have an animal feed company near by , they'll often do pellets and particles etc . As far as boilies go depends on quantity Abs bait , premier , retro , baitworks all do decent bait . Couple of my mates are using Munch baits and catching I'm not 100% sure on quality due to the retail price but all depends what your looking for. I f using pellets in quantity then your better of using coppens coarse pellet rather than oily trout pellet .
  7. Wow -- all i said was --Just read through it all and although Nash gets mentioned not really sure how you come to that conclusion . Just goes to show how reading forums can give different opinions . How's that warrant a calm down , think you read far to much into what is written on here , I genuinely didn't see a Nash like vs Nash hate vibe on this thread , you do different opinions thats all . Now there is no need for YOU to start trying to make it personal all IMO

  9. Would the angle change when I wear my stilettos due to the extra height P.s I get what your saying in theory .
  10. Oh I see from a geometry point of view yes , although you could move further away so the angle is the same , once the lead hits the water the difference would be so minimal anyway I can't see it making any difference , will the two leads enter the water at the same velocity ?
  11. But isn't that the point you wouldn't release at the same point , you alter the lead drop speed release etc depending on the equipment and situation .
  12. Totally agree as long as the rods are capable , see my responses above .
  13. stop confusing matters your Rodney or is it Dave
  14. I don't know but my old cane rods from 50 yrs ago sre still going strong !!! I've only replaced the blanks 3 times reel seats once and rings 4 times all for modern equivalents
  15. HaHa , exactly different rods have different attributes ,couldn't agree more . I just didn't agree with your statement - 'Great - and if you were used to a 12 - 13ft rod you'd probably find yourself being even more accurate' over and out its only fishing
  16. Sorry meant longer rod (obvious) . Your talking more about the rod action rather than the length of rod . So at what point does the longer rod stop becoming more accurate 13' 20' Once your used to a rod I bet there is no difference between a 9ft and 12 ft at certain distances . The difference between your old and new rods in accuracy will be more to do with the action then length . imo. or are you saying a 14' would be more accurate still ?
  17. Have to agree to disagree , hell of a lot more going on for accurate casting than the casting arc though . A longer may not being compressed to form a larger arc depending on distance for one .
  18. I think that comes down to type of rod (quality , makeup etc) , if say the max casting ability of your set up is 90 mtrs then its never going to be accurate at casting 80 - 90 meters compared to a set up thats capable of casting 120 meters . Not sure I agree with a 12 or 13ft rod being more accurate I'd like to know your theory on this .
  19. Rods evolved and got longer and lighter as better materials i.e glass then carbon among others becomes available , this evolution of materials and design of rods has almost come to a holt so the days of wow look at this slimmer , lighter or new mega casting rods are over . IMO the likes of Nash realised this and rather than just do what everyone else was doing they invented a new concept which they have done extremely well , is it for everyone NO , would some of these customers be better off with longer rods probably yes . The market will go full circle and in 10-15 yrs we'll probably be using 14' rods
  20. I could count on one hand the people I hate , there's people I don't like though . I've never met Alan Blair (so can't form an opinion) , all I would say is I don't think the direction he has/is taking carp fishing is good ,but that's just my opinion . As for manicured swims in 20 yrs time it will probably be the opposite with clubs struggling to find members and holding onto waters . As long as you or any individual is happy with short rods then happy days , its just they are not really the all rounders that the marketing men have us believe .
  21. wow I'm holding my nose just thinking about the smell
