  1. Angling has been in decline for decades now , look back at the history of match fishing some open matches on the big canals would have a 1000 anglers with people turned away . The 70' and 80's where probably the peak in fishing numbers . Carp angling has grown massively in a short space of time with a lot of 'instant anglers' and as in many things these days a lot have just seen it as a money making exercise even to such an extent that kids can't nip to their local lake for a few hour FREE fishing . The sad thing is UK fishing is in decline , will it change probably not . When I've got more time I'll bore you all with my views .
  2. Korda are probably bringing a new net and sling out , so he just priming the market
  3. Anyone looking at preparing particles should look here for guidelines .
  4. your prep sounds fine i.e soaking 24-48 hr them simmer for 30 mins , but do not let your particles dry out otherwise your undoing your prep which is done for the health of the fish . Leave the air drying for boilies if you need to .
  5. Out of interest whats your thinking behind air drying the particles
  6. Being in the right spot is more important than the bait , use a good fishmeal boilie and or corn or maize . Part of the fun is sussing a water out your self .
  7. I'm not sure I'd air dry , you need particles to fully absorb water before using hence the soaking & cooking . Freezing them is fine . I remember pre baiting chick peas every night for a week before fishing a water and having a cracking 24hrs .
  8. I thought Captain Jack died earlier this year .
  9. If ABS was used by Urban baits to roll baits then it's a little out of order to start bitching about ingredients IMO.
  10. Good luck to the guy as Mufty says free advertising . The Dragons gave him an easy ride , no questions about the size of market , percentage of market he has , what the competition is like , does he have a unique selling point/product etc etc . The market is crowded already .
  11. I would still contact 1st just giving them a rough idea of the issues to see what they say .
  12. Just a random thought , but instead of asking the question on here may be drop Delkim an email asking them the question at least you'll know the answer is a correct one . I have these crazy ideas every now and then

Just seen this on the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-44783433
  14. Sorry bees do not have to bee sit on the pad to be killed !! As I said above I would rather be cautious around fish if using one , better safe than sorry . Your happy using one , I'm not just different opinions .
  15. If any one is using one of these Thermacell's with Allethrin pads then it may be worth taking precautions i.e covering all bait and switching off when the fish are out of the water , may seem over the top but Allethrin is not good for fish , kills bee's as well (a big no no in my book ). May work well , but I'll stick to other methods of controlling the little blood suckers .
  16. I thought Allethrin was the main ingredient used in Thermacell , I must be wrong maybe they have changed the formula ??
  17. Allethrin is not the nicest of stuff IMO.
  18. Is that the one that contains allethrin ?
  19. You won't be able to use 80lb mono straight through , the spool won't hold enough , the mono will hold to much memory and will coil , the diameter will reduce the length of cast . Use the 80lb as a shock leader although 50lb is probably all you need .
  20. I've now got an image of flashing bivvies on a runs water
  21. Not for me , but Nash doesn't make many mistakes so I reckon there is a market .
  22. Optonic owned the patent hence why no one else produced alarms until the patent had run out from memory around 1992 , the flood gates then opened hence the amount of alarms on the market . As soon as the patent run out the big boys of the time i.e Shakespeare , Daiwa , Fox all started to produce roller alarms .
