Bags lol i got two tfg barrow bags been trying to shift on gumtree before i get the side bags, had no takers yet, think i will just use the smaller one and sack the side bags for now, not bothered with any of the pals they sometimes come up on the tree, found a nice bivvy that's local could save me a nifty 50, if i lived down south, there is a near spanking new aqua pioneer 100 with a few extras for 300, very tempted to just spend up and get it delivered. -
just getting a bait order sorted, going to hold off rolling the JB for now and just get out for next week hopefully, was going to give the mad cow a go but Whacker stop doing them in feb, so i'm going for their peach and pepper in the 5 k deal 2 k pellets and a liquid plus pop ups , also get some matching P&P wafters they are doing them in a cork dust said to be a proper wafter and a litre of their beta stim liquid. other than that i have some JB kit the bio fish and plum his tm1 and the cream, that's more for the summer though i plan on doing my own by then.

I'm happy with my mk2, the front bag is ok and the rear drop in is real nice would like to get the side bags i use the rod bar as well, set of basic rear wheels would be nice but not urgent. and the fatter front wheel would be better than the skinny one. -
Can't take her anywhere, she was having a look at the puffa jackets and liked the ridgemonkey one i said get one if you like, nah, they only do them in green makes you look like a hand grenade.🤣 first time she has been a tackle shop in years, couldn't get over how much carp gear there was these days and the prices, 999.99 for the camo tempest in old 1970's sofa material, i thought they would be a real nice peach skin feel, floral sofa coverings sprang to mind.

just back from AD, had a look at what bivvys they have set up, tell ya what i'm getting the advants peak with vents for 140, nice bit of kit don't see any point in lasing out big bucks for the same in a known name, i wasn't impressed by the pricey ones way too much money for what they are. forgot to add, i think a lot of anglers are telling themselves porkies so glad i went and checked out these high grade fabrics just didn't feel right, think the fox frontier was best the trakker brolly is well over priced and just the same nylon as the basic stuff, i was well impressed by the advanta double skin just a bit out my price range, they also had the protector set up for 112.00 it was a good buy just no vents, the peak one has vents and is around the 150.00 price.

like it, that is what carp angling is, you know something is banned and you know why it is banned but because of that knowledge you can get away with it and feel confident using it. Be it a bait or bit of tackle, i have never used peanuts and i don't think they are banned on most of the waters i fish, knowing my luck i would have some whipper snapper half hanging out my bait bucket whinging like an uber bailiff.

We need the peanut master back that man could fill pages on angling with peanuts, alright guy as well put me on the nene valley i very nearly joined castle ashby this year.

To avenger or inspire seems to be the end choice i'd grab the avenger but it doesn't have mozzi front doors i think the aspire at 350ish is a solid buy for me ticks all boxes bar price but it does look like a good solid bit of kit. I see quest still sell bivvys thought they went bust? they do a centre block bivvy for around 300, looks a bit dodgy fragile called the deifier, i genuinely read defiler at first, just a little lol. 👁️🗨️

never mind the material seem to all be different grades of polyester the more expensive are thicker with a diagonal stitch in the weave offers better air exchange, just when you think you have found one there is always a niggle, i'm not a big chap by any means but 130 cm headroom is just not for me, so that counts out a the typhoon and storm, the tempest would need to be the XL version which is a bit pricey for 210d and extra for a door. hmm... Looked at some of the advanta they do a nice tall one with the extra skin but it's 300 which is a lot for what could be a lemon plus they seem to be a frame wrestler going by reviews, i do like the two rib style had one of the early pop ups years back not bad can't remember the brand it was just before pram hoods came out, put it up by standing on a line and shoving up the brolly type mech. same for the jrc peak and wrap it's near the same price as the ASX by sonik which seems best value but if i can i think it will be one from prologic. but that could change 😆

something like this but in a bit more bulk https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1505400341?iid=144320924901

never tried it in angling due to cost but i know aloe vera would work like nothing else on the market a liter to 4 liters of spod mix would make for a comfy carp hang out area it's like catnip for fish, they have just started to test it in food fish farming.

i just got a set of the cygnet ones for my 10 footers they are zipless and have no carry handles perfect for grabbing one out off the barrow without all the messing of a rod bag, got the elasticated bare butt section, looks carpy. Very well padded all the latest range looks good from cygnet.

Good to see more venues trying to make angling more open to all, they can be very limited though on what they can do. those cabins would be best for some they are the only way i could take the mrs with me she has Ehlers-Danlos causes a lot of dislocations just doing basic stuff, so carp angling in a bivvy at a carp water would be way too much even as a guest but those cabins look nice. a fair few syndicates are doing what they can for disabled access even chris has put a blue badge peg in that can be booked.

don't know why the tackle companies do this kind of pricing for torches and similar, they could match the budget prices of go out doors type lights and sell outside the angling market, they seem to be avoiding general sales by pricing themselves out the market. it's the same for power packs and clothing, you would be hard pressed to find a willing customer outside of carp angling.

I can get out pretty much when i like she never moans about that it's the spends lol, she seems to think i can take on what are for me hard waters with the same approach to a runs water or the canal or using a single skin bivvy in winter lol, she is a real purest, although she does insist on me getting the best bait i can find everything else is just faff. i'm going to need a deeper come the summer some of these water are like a jungle by july.

that was a spelling mistake in cyprinus.🙈

i had planned for this week but looking at the first week in april now, just a day or two on a day ticket get everything ship shape and enquire after a year ticket on stanies while i'm there.

I don't get it at all, the nylon ones are the cheapest, the polyesters ones are mid range then you have the made up brand name stuff tuff tex, not even sure what that is, looks like i will get the JRC protector with peak and wrap for 200 got all the vents. I'm super temted to get something from cypreanus their storm bivvy looks nice but they do get a few bad reviews for some of their kit, the K60 looks good but said to fade and can be a sod to pack away. the storm looks ok though.

My last bivvy was sold as oxford nylon, 5000 hh with the outer coating, for a single skin with no vents it was a nice dry bivvy in the summer but really uncomfortable when wet through. noticed most bivvys these days are sold as polyester 210d and a 5000 hh, is that the same as the oxford nylon 210 just called polyester as you don't see bivvys sold as nylon these days. I'm thinking of sticking with a two rib really like the prologic range Avenger/Inspire there is a 100 notes difference in the two the inspire being made with better pro tex fabric the avenger is 210 polyester 500hh or the advanta which is the cheapest two rib that looks like it has a few years in it. Really hard to find buyer reviews on the prologic, but there kit is normally solid.

It's also the whole lamping bit, it is not lamping. I don't even think that is legal these days groups like PETA will take anything they can get and run with it. As is known i do talk to sab groups online, well until they blocked me lol, even they know they have gone as far as they can with fox hunting and need other avenues to keep the funds rolling in, they were lashing out at people with no interest shown for fox welfare, all over xmas bank holidays lost a bit of support, that and their expert on fox hunting didn't like it when i told them it's not a fox hunt they are planning to sab if the riders are wearing tweed, they didn't get it nor did the fox on that day. just shows they have a very limited knowledge, i also pointed out they could be held liable for third party claims due to them being backed by commercial businesses such as lush, due to lush encouraging the employees to protest on behalf of whoever is popular.

You know this is going to be good a recent addition that might not be on sale for long sounds like it was made for the trop mix, Fruit Bomb a mix of John Baker's i don't think all anglers realise the work John puts into his bait, i've been blown away with everything i've seen and used, so much so i'm definitely rolling my own going to get a large 20 mm gardner table and their heavy mix gun kit, thinking the 20 mm will be easier to gun out and roll giving me a nice size bait to either fish as large chops or full on duck choker, my last attempt gave me a good idea of what will work best for me...Strawberry, raspberry and plum. https://www.johnbakerbaits.com/product/fruit-bomb/ Might plump for a large bag of the JB indian spice the name really doesn't do the mix any justice to just what it is it's the best krill bait with a real indian curry house zap.

depends on the time of the year really a safe bet is the hemp, to be honest i'd stay away from oil till may-ish essential baits do a fermented cranberry liquid it's on my to get list. https://www.essentialbaits.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_13&products_id=39

John Baker's spectrum milk and cream in fact any of his liquid additives are the best stick mix liquids you can get, that milk and cream smells like whipped ice cream, why his gear is not more popular is a mystery the quality is always ahead of the game, i did ask him if he would consider using a rolling company to sell rolled baits, says he would not be able to guarantee the same quality bait with a third party rolling his bait sounds like he is working to real tight profit margins. https://www.johnbakerbaits.com/additives-other-products/
