  1. Seems to be a bit of confusion around my previous post we got our annual letters in December laying out the the plans for the year ahead, one of the issues was binoculars and phone calls along the lines of, " just been watching so and so and they are fishing past the boundaries, or so and so has poor fish handling skills, where as the guy who runs the lakes is not so keen on anglers using binoculars to see what other anglers are up to and reporting back if they see something they don't agree with. Don't think binoculars are really banned but I doubt there will be anymore phone calls complaining about subjective nonsense.
  2. Happy New Year guys , just for lols, they have had to ban binoculars on my lake, funny as, I'd love to know who that was, I guess it's true no one likes a grass lol.
  3. Put a bit of putty over it i find that keeps them in place.
  4. Going by the amount of anglers on the bank this weekend I'd say this year will be busy on the lakes, think the chances of anything out of a midlands water this week or so will be rare, that air is cold plus the river floods that are up.
  5. Love my big snooze i got the normal size on a wide bed it fits ok and the stitching on the top and bottom has held up to overstretching around the bed frame. that with a cover has always done me.
  6. Not yet but I should be one of the first once they have done the older people. Health worker, over the years I have had all sorts of shots I used to work in what would be called a wet house hostel, but we would never call it that, don't think there are any hostels like that these days, had all the hep shots to work there lot of heavy drug users with the latter stages of HIV and all that comes with it.
  7. Just been watching a few vids on the CHIRPA looks pretty good i like the gps mapping don't like the price though. Could do plenty with a baiting pole on the lakes i fish one guy made his own out of a pole body and landing net handle works a treat.
  8. Never heard of this one before but have been getting links just lately on FB, funnily enough I do follow big Jim on FB he comes across as an ok guy reputation aside, not too keen on his carp vernacular I doubt I could read one of his books. he was getting slated the other day for fishing 7 days a week every week, he popped up to say he only fishes 4 days a week and you couldn't do it, lol he is right.
  9. It don't really i was just being dramatic, although using one myself might, i'd sooner go out on a boat myself with a bucket and prodding stick.
  10. I have been mulling over a deeper myself but i think it might take some of the mystery out of my fishing, plus from what i've seen of them which isn't a lot i'm not sure i could get full use out of one the display looks confusing, might have to watch a few vids see what's what.
  11. If i owned a lake all boats and sonar would be banned hate the things puts me off my fishing goes way too far across the line of fishing for a living, plus on you average 10 acre UK carp lake if you struggle on where to put a bait perhaps try waggler fishing for a summer or two.
  12. Terry must of doubted his own first edition numbers needed or the publishing company did. He should do more social media a Facebook page You Tube channel I've a feeling the companies some anglers work for also control their anglers public appearance terry could make very good money off YT. I know a guy that gets his main income off you tube videos does all sorts of stuff from knot tying, very hardcore off grid living and hobo treasure hunting does ok from add revenue.
  13. Carpmachine was the resident nut guy and he was always fermenting something in his garage not sure on nuts though they can put out a nasty smelling gas when they break down..
  14. Tel seems popular with the ladies, he is a rare breed in his personal life a 50 year old bachelor seems a very nice guy just wish some of todays carp anglers could be a bit more terry on the bank and less of the elite angler attitude.
  15. There is paprika in it but it is pulped fruit pepper and spices the raw form is very nice, it is for Avery show birds parrots and that. The robin orange is a sweeter fruity spice, had some great results on the robin gold highly rate it, the guy I get my bait off makes a very high quality bait with both the red and gold will do a custom bait if it is worth his work and it is not something mental that he knows won't work he is set with his own three recipes and will roll other companies baits so long as it is not just the odd kilo bag of mainline here and there. He is quite confident that one or all of his baits will catch anywhere at any time of year as they are, just don't ask about glugging them, lol.

  17. That's what i thought but reading the haiths page they say it can be made up into bolies as is, i really like the look of the Robin Orange and some of what they call their base mix range. On a average 1 kilo wet mix how much of that one kilo would would need to be flour to bind and roll the ingredients into a workable dough? would any of the milled nut flours work just as well as a polenta type flour?
  18. Wondering if anyone could share a little insight into how they have found Haith's base mixes, some seem to be very coarse and might need milling? Take their Nectar blend as an example is that ready to roll as is once eggs and liquid are added, or would it need flours of any sort adding to aid the finished bait, some of the mixes look like they would get very sticky if made as it comes. Haith's base mixes seem like very good value and as is well known quality with a lot of big bait companies using their mixes, but finding good info on how to turn one into a bait without ending up with a cake mix is a bit thin on the ground.
  19. Tabaco flavour seems to be very tricky to get right most are awful.
  20. I'm royally peed off with the price of big tackle items, do not get me started on bivvys and barrows charging more for a nylon bivvy than what you can get a true all weather tent that is extremely strong windproof and insulated. Then you have a 500 £ bivvy that doesn't even come complete, 400 quid would be a fair price for the Titan with all the bits. As for the price of the three wheeled barrows with motor I would love one, but I could buy two road worthy motors with MOT on for the same money how is that even possible, just shows demand dictates the price and not value for money.
  21. Wonder what the fish would make of my tobacco flavours, i'm mainly using vampire vapes smooth western at the mo, but i like the Camel ciggies type flavours desert ship was the best but can't get the right one Charlie Noble do some nice tobacco flavours their Tripoli is very nice.
  22. i do like thee look of the JB stuff i think it would stand out as a quality bait in a club/syndicate water that sees all the rolled freezer fresh baits? The base mixes look topps, is there any edge in having the best quality base mix made and served fresh over what can be bought of a similar qualty mix that has been frozen. thawed, shipped and all the rest.
  23. There are only 3 0r 4 flavour makers in the uk and they all do pretty much the same, this one supplies to the bait industry and has done so for a very long time.
  24. If you buy the flavours by the litre you can go direct to where they are made and get a much wider choice http://www.rdcampbell.co.uk/flavours
