  1. Terry must of doubted his own first edition numbers needed or the publishing company did. He should do more social media a Facebook page You Tube channel I've a feeling the companies some anglers work for also control their anglers public appearance terry could make very good money off YT. I know a guy that gets his main income off you tube videos does all sorts of stuff from knot tying, very hardcore off grid living and hobo treasure hunting does ok from add revenue.
  2. Carpmachine was the resident nut guy and he was always fermenting something in his garage not sure on nuts though they can put out a nasty smelling gas when they break down..
  3. Tel seems popular with the ladies, he is a rare breed in his personal life a 50 year old bachelor seems a very nice guy just wish some of todays carp anglers could be a bit more terry on the bank and less of the elite angler attitude.
  4. There is paprika in it but it is pulped fruit pepper and spices the raw form is very nice, it is for Avery show birds parrots and that. The robin orange is a sweeter fruity spice, had some great results on the robin gold highly rate it, the guy I get my bait off makes a very high quality bait with both the red and gold will do a custom bait if it is worth his work and it is not something mental that he knows won't work he is set with his own three recipes and will roll other companies baits so long as it is not just the odd kilo bag of mainline here and there. He is quite confident that one or all of his baits will catch anywhere at any time of year as they are, just don't ask about glugging them, lol.

  6. That's what i thought but reading the haiths page they say it can be made up into bolies as is, i really like the look of the Robin Orange and some of what they call their base mix range. On a average 1 kilo wet mix how much of that one kilo would would need to be flour to bind and roll the ingredients into a workable dough? would any of the milled nut flours work just as well as a polenta type flour?
  7. Wondering if anyone could share a little insight into how they have found Haith's base mixes, some seem to be very coarse and might need milling? Take their Nectar blend as an example is that ready to roll as is once eggs and liquid are added, or would it need flours of any sort adding to aid the finished bait, some of the mixes look like they would get very sticky if made as it comes. Haith's base mixes seem like very good value and as is well known quality with a lot of big bait companies using their mixes, but finding good info on how to turn one into a bait without ending up with a cake mix is a bit thin on the ground.
  8. Tabaco flavour seems to be very tricky to get right most are awful.
  9. I'm royally peed off with the price of big tackle items, do not get me started on bivvys and barrows charging more for a nylon bivvy than what you can get a true all weather tent that is extremely strong windproof and insulated. Then you have a 500 £ bivvy that doesn't even come complete, 400 quid would be a fair price for the Titan with all the bits. As for the price of the three wheeled barrows with motor I would love one, but I could buy two road worthy motors with MOT on for the same money how is that even possible, just shows demand dictates the price and not value for money.
  10. Wonder what the fish would make of my tobacco flavours, i'm mainly using vampire vapes smooth western at the mo, but i like the Camel ciggies type flavours desert ship was the best but can't get the right one Charlie Noble do some nice tobacco flavours their Tripoli is very nice.
  11. i do like thee look of the JB stuff i think it would stand out as a quality bait in a club/syndicate water that sees all the rolled freezer fresh baits? The base mixes look topps, is there any edge in having the best quality base mix made and served fresh over what can be bought of a similar qualty mix that has been frozen. thawed, shipped and all the rest.
  12. There are only 3 0r 4 flavour makers in the uk and they all do pretty much the same, this one supplies to the bait industry and has done so for a very long time.
  13. If you buy the flavours by the litre you can go direct to where they are made and get a much wider choice http://www.rdcampbell.co.uk/flavours
  14. I used three different knots on my leaders this year albrite mahin and palomar to loop the mahin looked the neatest but all are good the palomar to surgeons loop is just as good as any ready to tie leader. I worry too much about slipping so prefer the knot to loop set up.
  15. Up above link, for yourself or a present?
  16. 750 watts of pure indoor sunshine with log effect the future of winter angling?
  17. Jammy sod, ever since seeing a halogen heater in a bivvy i have wanted a generator lovely warm orange glow filling the bivvy up it really would have to be a Honda or Yamaha so big money.
  18. As an add i 'm not planning on using anything i have listed so far this one is too flammable in the event of a spillage. i have seen a few photos on FB of guys with the gas heater in the bivvy, i just hope they are also using a CO2 detector. which is my main reason for bumping this thread. The best option is still the electric generator route, but it would have to be a 2k watt Honda or Yamaha silent running, a 500 watt drain would barley take it out of tick-over making it very quiet running.
  19. By Jove i think i have it! Spirit alcohol burner marked for indoor use and available from BnQ , but what i like the look of is the one linked, the looped copper pipe and wick. I think it could be used similar to a candle heater but with enough power to warm up a heat retaining box lined with those blokes that go in gas fires. I was thinking of putting a kit together and calling it the Common Sense Bankside Buddy, trading standards would be fine with that i'm sure.
  20. At this time of year with the autumn we are having i will be surprised if the carp are eating more than a mouthful a day or out hunting for a feed, the little water i like has only done one fish this past few weeks due to it getting feed by fresh river water where as the next lake along that gets water from the little lake is still fishing ok-ish if i get out again this year it will be zigs and singles. if i was happy to use maggots i would go with a pva bag of maggots or chopped worm, i don't like to use bait that is still wriggling, but, i would put money on chopped worm being the best bait for this cold weather?
  21. Depends a lot on fish stocks and water size, some of the anglers on here fish large waters so putting bait out to areas that they think a fish will feed in will help find the fish regularly. Then you have match/runs waters where if you don't put the bait out the fish will go and feed in a swim that is being baited heavy.
  22. Get the Centuries if you can, either that or the shimanos seem to be the highest recommended, i don't like Shimano gear other than the reels, Shimano rods were once known to suffer tip snap offs once you get to near their maximum casting weight, had it happen on two hyperloops fishing bags, i did buy them used tenner a go, but a Rod Builder who knows more about what's what with carbon blanks had nothing good to say about the Shimano rods of 20 years back, might of changed. The fox X3 is a newish one, i have what they replaced in price range the Torque would love a review on the pros and cons between the two, i really do like my Torques i have used balistas before but not the slims i'd say mine are easily on par with the slims and I hate to say this but in the past few years i have had them i have not dropped a fish, touch wood and all that.
  23. Put some candle wax on the rods joins stop them sticking once you get them separated
  24. Two people one on each end pulling and twisting in opposite directions, something will give
  25. Good luck, the garages are raking it in at the mo all those that let the maintenance slip for the extra six month than normal, i had to use a national tyres a few weeks back for pads and discs i managed to get a 35 off which is pretty much unheard off in those places, guys i would normally go to are booked out solid. Why people let the jobs come up and advisories build up on the MOT history is just silly insurance companies now use the online MOT history to price both quotes and pay outs. Some poor bloke in the garage had the same car as mine but the 1.6 petrol ouch he was in for a new clutch those cars a way too heavy for a 1.6 engine.
