got the new barrow went proper Scottish on it which can be a problem when you have a very old Warwickshire accent of which i am very fond of, as it got it from my grandparents. had some cheeky git say a i sounded like a hobbit from lor, i'll take that i thought. anyhow the barrow, sponsored by Tesco gold label tea.

i'm willing to call a truce on my belittlement of batboat anglers so long as certain terms are met, those terms are get one of these bb's linked below ( don't worry it is a angling boat ) what you need to do is make a little cockpit a stick a darth vader figure in the pit, also it must play the imperial march theme tune when trucking across the lake. https://www.futurecarping.co.uk/products/v70-bait-boat?variant=37624505794726¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAjwnPOEBhA0EiwA609ReWfD0HAQV0BJ-jJJqxmb6qh4ETYNq1ESJz6d3hpz-T3cZy_QM1j17RoCzC0QAvD_BwE

i just had a few sessions with high flavour shelfies i really do think they are way over the top be going back to my cov gold next time you could taste the chemical back note for days after handling those hit n run pop ups, nasty.
-
soon as poss really do a few days sessions see how it is with the dog, bet it would be a different dog on the bank to what it is when at home or out walking don't take long for them to settle into the peg life as well.
-
get a patterdale they only get on the bed for sleep or food, don't take mine any more too old he would be off everywhere back in the day got into allsorts of fights he ended up at the vet once getting his neck stitched back up that was a close call he is a rescue that came with a few facial marks always been keen to get off on his own think because i would sort of let him he always came back eventually, never had a problem with rabbit holes luckily. he has had a look but not keen on going too far in, some dogs can shoot down them without even thinking about it.

well that was a weekend to forget i know one thing from here on in it's hot swims only or once i get a barrow I'm going mobile on that dog, just cant catch a break if it ain't dye going in its feed or for some unfathomable reason the sluice gates are open meaning at this time of year the lake temps drop back to near freezing for a day or two i know the dye don't effect the fish but still some days the water looks like a massive toilet blue has been chucked in in fact that's not a bad idea, sure get em moving out the going swims, going to be a completely different angler turning up from now on.

What a dire session I couldn't bag a goldfish at this rate don't think that chunk of river water helped to top it the ducks have been hitting my gear without any remorse.
-
Looked OK to me bit of a unruly rig to fish in a bag, must of been massive nice sonic boom crack off on hitting the clip.
-
Well the Chinese snugpac is very impressive just done a silly in the rain and swapped the zig over to a bottom Bait took longer than planned the snigpac gear is water proof too bone dry under just got to dry these out now or it will be the 1990s style rain suit proper heavy may as well strap the bivvy on. Lad two pegs over just had one.
-
Raining hard its that constant wet rain and not that summer hardly gonna get you wet rain.
-
Nice in Northampton flat calm now seen a few boshing near my middle rod
-
Got snugpac rip offs on and the wet gear in the bag, bring on this tropical wind, got that new wind coming right at me, slus gates were open last night so there is a load of river water in the lake.

so who else is out this weekend? first time i have been out on a weekend in a while see how my single skin bivvy holds up in this rain got the last of my shelfies to fish with before i switch to a proper food source bait, although to be fair even though i have not caught on them i'm very pleased with how they work in water, they very nearly break down to a paste with in 24 hours of being in water seem to be good baits too from what i can tell. dynamite corn and tiger and their hot glm both are nice.

just gave my nephew a load of tackle two reels both shimmies a pike rod an old pod and a original korum day shelter and and few bits plus a load of hook baits that haven't seen the light of day in a while. he does a bit with his grandad on farm ponds around furnace end

Might not roll if you put too much of something in sure their is a inclusion list on-line that shows the maximum levels of single ingredients per kilo mix and what the results will be if too much is used, think it was a CC Moor list. I'd try some of the other Haiths stuff, robin gold really is something else the fish love it.

Ha ha try match style carp angling on a runs venue more than once i have brought all my rods in just to get a kip without having to get up for a straightener with a specimen size F1 hybrid Looks like you went at it a bit too early this year Highy carp angling is a late spring through to late autumn discipline anything else really is a grind, if i wanted to fish all year i would target large perch on worms or roach on bread punch , match angling is ok just depends on what level you wish to compete, if you think us carp anglers have expensive gear take a walk round a proper match venue when the big guys are fishing then visit the same venue when the local guys are fishing a mid-week pot not a lot of difference in the gear on the bank.

Tell you what is a shocker I hang a proper spank it like your its daddy kind of thread and no takers 😷

Twelve hundred notes did mention it to the Bank Manger the reply was, could get a caravan for that.

Looks like fun need a tea boy or a chain lad once built three bridges on the M40 lol did the marking out for the diggers right up to marking out where the bearing plates would sit on top of the concrete that the steel crossbeams sit on., it was the only job they would give me due to age seventeen had to be eighteen to get a labours job. The guys with a good trade or their own 360 machine were making real big money being in the engineers team i got to work with most of the trades always a good bit of competition to see which trade was earning the most. That area and the whole of Warwickshire could do with a few decent big fish venues something like a Linear fishery in south Warwick would make someone a lot of money.
-
Lol often wondered if anyone did that, in my local tackle shop the fox armour mesh is next to the fox pva mesh they look similar. Must be a real confusing angling discipline to come into a new, i got given a withy rig years back and no instructions on what to do with it, ended up on a inline bit like a chod tied to a house brick, looked alright to me.

50 is a funny age for many reasons, got talking to a very old friend who i have not seen in 30 odd years, I'm all like oh hi what you been doing then, turns out she is a fairly high ranking Navy officer done a few tours in Afghanistan which I always thought was land locked? Named a few ships she has helmed whatever that is? currently working in the oil industry jaunting around the world still a Navy reservist, I'm all like playing cool, yeah I'm out in my bivvy in the badlands of Northampton and can still put an 8 hour shift in on a set of ladders lol.

Best video of the day on YT bar far a colourisation of Warwickshire it really is striking to see just how much is still the same i knew all the places in this video and most of the buildings are still the same, the river Avon looks even more carpy back then than now. Loads of other good videos on that channel.
