  1. Sometimes when you can't find a hole in the weed is to make one, or fish on top of the weed if it is silk weed, get some vicious takes on a chod rig fished up in the silk weed.
  2. Probably will get a boat same for the deeper seems to be a major part of most anglers fishing these day, a guy at the lakes was just talking about the one you have, got everything on it including a camera.
  3. Nice, are Bait boats easy to use they look it, I know the more expensive ones are silent running do you think the sound of a louder one would be a problem.
  4. just a bit, time before last i had the fish tails up on one rod happily munching away, still can't get my head round how that never turned into a run know the lake fairly well just too much second guessing where the fish will move next.
  5. i approached my water with a total lack of respect this year, thought i would start at the first swim and fish it till i had one, then move to the next peg, three sessions in and I'm still to have one, change of plan.
  6. like you say drones in the lake is bound to happen, keep the drone for work plus it would depend on the lakes think a lot have already banned drones, unless you get special permission.
  7. think the deeper would be better the deeper start looks good for fish finding and basic bottom structure the next models up do a lot more, really thinking of getting one may as well all the lakes i fish are on the site mapped out just about everyone has one on the lakes so sod it i'm getting one, one day lol.
  8. oldy but goldy
  9. calm down last years uptake in anglers is dropping off, the amount of spanking new used tackle going up for sale is starting to pick up, all around a year old and way too far into the kind of tackle a very dedicated long-time angler would buy, just seen a brand new looking power porter bought last year used twice, only wants 800 for it, ha ha i'd put the extra hundred on top and buy new, used prices are between 30 to 50 percent retail value, go out doors was packed yesterday with people buying camping gear. don't think the lakes will be as busy this mid summer.
  10. worst bit about taking a dog on every session for over ten years is when they pop their clogs, mine went Tuesday afternoon, such a good dog no drama or trips to the vet which i don't do out of personal choice, spent the weekend trying to pull every dangling cable and what its connected to down, was a a bit worn out on the monday was having to hand feed him and syringe water, he went to get up for a wonder around and just came to a stop. bit gutted to be honest.
  11. possibly but more for short booms the shop bought ones can be a bit long something like a three inch boom and 5 inch supple section hair rig.
  12. you guys need to put up pics of the finished rig thinking of getting a set for combis with the boom and knot tied supple end.
  13. in fact i think Kevin Nash should sponsor me, imagine the sales kudos being able to say the titan is endorsed by the pikey community and if he was to bung in a super light sleep system, i will give him permission to use government tartan as a camo option in the whole range, bet he would love that.
  14. you'll be alright can post what you like in here even stupid memes
  15. had my jrc contact for ten years still going only resealed once in ten years it actually behaved in that last rain storm no condensation and that's a single skin really could with something faster and more portable only got this bivvy due to the Mrs said she might do the odd overnighter never has yet, keeps mumbling about getting a caravan and hitting the pikey routes, ha ha yeah right I'm really going to open myself up to all that comes with that, I don't speak the lingo you really do need to be able to speak one of the Gaelic languages to get along in those places. i have never even towed a caravan either. the wychwood will be my next buy. if i can't get something like titan system
  16. sling them a sleeping bag each and tell them to be grateful, give them the old back in the day line, like framey says most camping gear like chairs and beds only lye flat on bowling green style lawns. , if the kids are nippers get them a wide bed chair to two up in, you wouldn't want those bunk beds coming down.

    Dogs and fishing

Lol out in the sun, should I set my gear up so he thinks he is out fishing,
  18. that's the problem i'm having with barrows found one that is around the right price but when you add the fuel money it's a bit much, offered the guy asking price if he would bring to me, not heard back, they sell fast so.
  19. funnily enough im looking at a brolly for the future my jrc contact two man is still going strong add a overwrap and it is the perfect winter bivvy so see no point in getting a another one, but the new wychwood brolly looks good mainly do to the price and the add on fronts that are cheap in comparison, add a vapour shield be lovely. light and fast.
  20. make sure your clips are up to the job very few sub 200 pound reels could hit the clip at that distance an still drop your rig on the spot neatly, you will need to slow that line down before it hits the clip, the bow in the line comes from a cross wind, casting to fallen trees will also be a real problem at distance due to the line bowing, you would need to cast past the spot giving you some room to take the bow out the line, long distance casting is one thing getting it right is a art form in itself. fair play to you for going down that route sounds like the kind of water that a baitboat would not look wrong. i never fish large waters so that's more how i see it than factual, there are some very good long distance anglers on the site, they can be a bit elitists but if you plug away the best you can you may get some advice worth listening to.
  21. on a more practical view of boats i will say I've been very reliably informed that the carp tax is mighty on rc bait boats mates into those petrol rc cars the fast off road ones sonar equipment aside the rc boat is really overpriced, then again most rc dues reckon they can build or get built for cheaper.
  22. wellies or wet feet, take plenty of socks and change as needed is my normal routine, those sealskinz socks are said to keep the wet out and feet dry but at nearly 50 notes a pair I'll never know. did get offered a new set for fifteen quid a few years back when I bought my lofty gear, turned them own as I didn't know anything about them.
  23. not sure but i'm currently recruiting foot soldiers, been scouring some of the more out-there peta spin off groups, also looking for a good electronic warfare team, going to hack deeper an scrub that site clean.
  24. the arms race is on i have one of these on order i figured so long as i only use it from my own peg all's fair. i give you soon to be marketed in the uk, the boat blaster 5000 I can see nothing in the rules of fisheries or more importantly the ethics and etiquette of carp angling that could prevent an angler from deploying such equipment when fishing a lake.
  25. as an aside have you ever noticed proper English people don't haggle never understood that one it either agreeable or a umming and arring silence, you just know the wheels of commerce didn't turn too quick back in the days of bartering.
