    There is plenty of good videos out there now for beginners but there is nothing wrong with what you are using now. It will catch fish it will depend on what you are fishing over bottom wise as to what material you use as a hook link. a softer hook link will end up nearer to your lead than say a semi stiff or stiff

    I have a korum landing net handle that has the cam lock on it Not sure if it’s the same type but there is a Philips screw on the lever that you tighten up or loosen to make the cam work better

    You can Chop the chains down easily but I think 6” are the perfect length

    I use the matrix stainless ones with the holes in them i find them great it windy weather as they eliminate seesawing but are not overly heavy to stop a bite showing

    I would love a casting lesson I have never measured any casts but I reckon I’m doing 80 or so with just an overhead thump never really belted it out to test lol

    In a freezer or just in general ? you can air dry them and they last almost indefinitely

    Pro gold is a great line but difficult to get hold of at times . I know I have some Pro Blend line on a set of spools but I can’t remember what reels it is on, lol . Not had any problems with it.

    I would use a safety bead on the top I use Korda but yesterday I saw a company called poltergeist tackel sell the set up maybe the guy who sells tackle here with the forum discount may be able to help

    I used to make them in the 80s used to have the kempastini book of baits but lent it to a tackle shop and never got it back ☹️
