I keep thinking of the local Park Lakes near me, there would be many a Balnks had, but the rewards would be great.
    3 Sisters (Boating) Park Lake
    Amberswood Park Lake
    Scotsman's Flash
    Pennigton Flash
All are tricky waters but have some gooood, Pristine looking fish (weight irrelevant).

I'm kind of doing the opposite , Highy , in that I'm renewing my club ticket where there may be some 20lbers .
It's like Nick says " it's my happy place " . Carp Anglers are in the minority at my club water ( it's predominately Match Anglers )  , so I feel I'm not competing with other Carp Anglers while trying to outwit the Carp ; and I enjoy the wildlife .
I can always pay for a day ticket at my local runs water where I stand a much better chance of a 20 , or maybe if I believe the hype , a 30 .
Sometimes I think I enjoy the planning / anticipation of going fishing more than actually sitting lakeside waiting for a bite ? .

The things we do in search of the next nice carp.
The reservoir I fish is full of water atm, we cant launch from the sailing club, so have to barrow several loads through loads of mud to get to the boats. My average time from the load up until being all set up is around 5 hours??? Crazy. Considering it's only 30 minutes away from home.
    Enjoy and good luck mate.

Sadly Mate, pretty much not being able to work life is nearly all fishing for me at the moment. I know it sounds strange, but I hate not working. Boogered back, hip and shoulder put that to bed. I hope my body can straighten up after the new hip!

My car is only until its MOT in August, hopefully I can get PIP approved and all back pay since September last year before then.

    Until Saturday.
Was a horrible experience pushing 2 barrow loads of gear again, but until the track is dry, I'd much rather not get the car stuck. Should have dried out by Saturday so I can load up into the car

Well  the phrase " it's my happy place " sums it all up for me .
It's great that that you are managing to still get out despite your health issues , Nick , you tough old git, but perhaps you might have less dramas next time 😁 ? .

The river Lot is still flowing powerfully, the remains of snow on the Massif must still be finding its way through the bogs and feeder stream as the water temperature has risen a little - but very slowly. It's still only around 11c and I think that is holding back both feeding and spawning of various species.
But I continue to fish and amongst a few of the smaller barbel and chub a few specimens have turned up. First a carp of 21 lb which was followed by a couple of 4 lb barbel. Next trip it was an 8 lb 13 ozs barbel, about as big as they get here.
A week ago I went camping (in a camper-car!) about 30 miles upstream of my home patch, First afternoon I had a 6 lb 11 ozs bream and a lovely condition 4 lb 7 ozs chub. The next afternoon I had a 35 lb carp........

I use a Drennan match catty had it for donkey years, just renew the elastic when it degrades. Keeping it out of the sun helps it longevity. Perfect for floaters when you don’t want to much bait and single boilies on small waters. You can get a single boilies out a fair distance and accurately especially along a tree line.

I think that this proves one catapult or bait delivery system is not the answer to every problem.

I've got a Drennan Boiliepult and a Rod Hutchinson Boilie Catapult, both have had the pouch changed to a smaller one, which I can get 4 15mm or 3 18mm boilies in at a push, or a small handful of floating dog biscuits.
The Boiliepult has been my goto for years, maximum range about 50-60metres, for 3 boilies, a little further for singles. I reckon I tend to use it more for floaters than boilies! Only problem is elastics are getting harder to get.
The RH one I bought around 4months ago I guess (maybe a little longer) has had limited use so far.

I do find that I use my throwing stick more for boilies, putting 5 or 6 in at a time to get a decent spread at that 50-60metres, or single 18mm boilies to 100metres.
I've been Spombing boilies out recently when I want to keep them tight. As good as I am with the catty and stick, wind veer, mishapes or splitting baits (with the stick) or seagulls mean baiting can go awry.

Past few sessions and hopefully today, I've been fishing my left rod to an under arm margin, the 1st over hang tree on left, right rod to 10 wraps towards the growing bull rushes. Catty and Spod have both been in use, I think its the ping/trickle of a catty that draws em in, instead of a rain of a scoop (close in).

Hopefully be same spot today after work 🤞🙏🤞🙏

With the holes drilled out, they are pretty much anyway.
They busted the lock on one & put a massive scratch down the panel.
The van that's been done twice just had stuff moved around.
I'm tempted to sit in the back & wait for them☠️

Yup sure did it was so mild I didn’t have to use the heating element in my bag
The carp are on the move now, birds are nesting, trees and bushes are in bud. Enjoyed watching a pair of Cormorants and Grebes showing me had to catch fish 🙄

Im really, really annoyed by petty crime, again.🤮
I've got 2 vans, both have been broken into by drilling holes in the sidedoor panel where the latch is.
First time they took 3 cordless tool around £400 new. Damage to the doors at £1k.

This week, they damaged the latch so couldn't get in?? Estimate £1.5K.
The tools we use are only around £7-800, so not worth insuring due to £500 excess. Same for the damage caused, not worth claiming for!!
Quote for dead locks £500 each van.
So for a these parasites looking for an easy score it's cost me around £3k😭😭😭
    Not a happy chappy
