It's what Framey has typed - ignore the quoted breaking strain and go by the thickness i.e. 0.40 as Ouch. says . You need a thicker line for abrasion resistance against the branches ; a thinner line may well break at the same figure , but with a straight pull on a weed / snag free water . 😀

Well from what you've written , Elmo you've made a great decision ; your post reads that the lake is your happy place which to me is very important in stressful times . Interesting what you say about the Deeper - I've " found " some interesting spots with the Deeper , but can I then find the flipping spots with a marker set up afterwards to cast to ? - can I hell 😢.

Hello Carpman98 Thanks for starting this thread , I'm finding it very interesting . Personally I have been keeping my pop ups on my hooks from ending one session , and then 1st cast of the next session to save time . I tend to recast say every 2 hours , and then change flavour / colour , but I probably shouldn't as my rig should be resetting , and presenting correctly . 😃

So will you be playing with your Rainbow High Doll , or are you collecting them , Elmo , like Beanie Babies ? . 😁

I'm kind of doing the opposite , Highy , in that I'm renewing my club ticket where there may be some 20lbers . It's like Nick says " it's my happy place " . Carp Anglers are in the minority at my club water ( it's predominately Match Anglers ) , so I feel I'm not competing with other Carp Anglers while trying to outwit the Carp ; and I enjoy the wildlife . I can always pay for a day ticket at my local runs water where I stand a much better chance of a 20 , or maybe if I believe the hype , a 30 . Sometimes I think I enjoy the planning / anticipation of going fishing more than actually sitting lakeside waiting for a bite ? . 😃

I think that's my rod , Blue . I've lost the little wood stopper 😢 , I've put it somewhere " safe " 🙄 . I can't say that I use my rod much , if at all , just take it out of its cloth bag and look lovingly at it . 😃
