    Aviary .

I see NM as more a Flat Cap man - " working class , and bloomin' proud of it ! " That's a cool avatar Cyborx .

    Aviary .

Hey NM as Cyborx says , can't you sidle up to someone in the pub and say " psst , wanna buy some Mountain Quail eggs " . It's not as if the Mountain Quail is going to dob you in ! .
  3. Hello Lumey I haven't got one , but as far as I understand it you can transmit live images ( so I guess that would include any fish passing by ) . However , I believe you would have to guess when a fish was swimming past because the float has to surface before transmitting it's data to your 'phone / iPad . Incidentally in this months' Carpology the Fishspy is on offer at £200 , I wonder if this is because of slow sales due to the cost ? .
  4. Hello BC I bought this Brolly because I liked the idea of the ribs being on the outside with the centre boss . Previously I had a Wychwood Solace 50" , and it always slightly irritated me how it wouldn't free stand until I'd sorted out the poles - especially if it was threatening to chuck it down . I haven't used the Trakker yet , just erected it to check it out . I thought the headroom was disappointing until I realised I hadn't used the Tensioning Strap - d'oh ! , then there was plenty of room . I was wary of being too energetic erecting the Trakker as it was new and I wanted to carefully stretch out the fabric , but with more frequent use and practice it should go up very quickly . From videos I see that the no longer available Trakerlite Bivvy had a light alloy ( ? ) boss , but the Brolly has a lighter ( ? ) plastic composite ( ? ) . I love the wrap around sides which I believe will give me a lot of protection , but allow me to keep watch on the water . Hope the above waffle is of some help to you .

  6. Hello Yonny The size 4 and 6 barbless in Neals' 'photo look pretty strong , could you go into a bit more detail as to why you wouldn't use a fly hook for Carp please . Ta
  7. Hi Dayvid There's a friendly Robin down my local lake . I've bought some mealworms , and I hope with patience to have him / her feeding from my hand .
  8. Hello CM " my mistake for recommending them without giving them a fair trial period, my apologies to all concerned. " So if I return my Kranks to you , you'll give me a full refund ? .
  9. And to think Russians have nuclear weapons !!! .
  10. Thanks for the heads up about the Fox Zig Aligner , Hutch . That's very interesting what you are saying Beanz , and like Neal I too would like to know your prefered hook pattern now . Ta .
  11. Thanks fellas A Line Aligner ? - hmm , something else for me to think about , thanks Nick . What is your opinion on Micro Barbs please NM ? . Thanks for the recommendation Neal ; I'm guessing it was easier to put a blanket ban on using any Curve Shanks at Graviers rather than single out specific manufacturers patterns .
  12. Thanks Nick . I'm glad I've kept some of my old rigs , it looks like it may be time to resurrect the rigs with tubing on ! .
  13. Thanks Hutch , that's very interesting , and hopefully will be the catalyst for some healthy debate . It certainly makes me want to give more thought to the Kamasan B175 - as recommended by Nick and Tim .
  14. Ah excellent Hutch ! . I worded my original question clumsily which meant that this thread went off at a slight - BUT very welcome ( because I learnt more stuff ) tangent . I'm very interested to read what you say about mouth damage with Krank hooks , Hutch , as when I unintentionally caught a 2lbish Tench on a barbless Krank ( sz. 10 I think ) its' mouth was full of blood when I came to unhook it . I haven't had another incident like that again , and I wonder if like some of the published rigs and hooks Kranks are more aimed at bigger Carp ? .
  15. Never mind Tim , just like West Ham you tried your best .
  16. Thanks Hutch
  17. Thanks Nick .
  18. It would be a Sz. 8 Korda Krank Chod or a Sz. 8 Korda Chod , Snoozer . I thought the eye of the hook needed to be out turned Tim and Nick ? . Thanks for the answers .
  19. Hi Fellas Has anyone any thoughts about which is the best hook to use for a Pop Up pls. ? Ta
  20. Thanks Jonezy and Jimmboy .
  21. Well Spr I missed the point - literally ! . 0.5kg not 5kg , good job I'm not an Engineer .
  22. Hi Spr I thought the Pebble still had the 5kg. line running through it ? . I guess I'll just have to wait for Gagna. to explain it in Noddy language to me .
  23. Thanks Gagna. So the pva melts after casting , and the line running through the pebble has enough strength to give the bolt rig effect , but it will snap if the pebble gets snagged on something ? . I guess the Pebbles are really smooth to prevent chafing on the braid hook link . I wonder how expensive a Stone Tumbler would be , or maybe a matt varnish - maybe a yacht varnish ? . I don't know how you feel about " dropping the lead " if a Carp shakes its' head so it can't use the leads' weight to help eject the hook ? ; I guess after you've lovingly made your Pebbles you'd be loath to dump them on the river bed every time you hooked a Carp ? .
  24. Well jolly well stay sober Gagnaccarp , your public needs to know this stuff ! .
