  1. Thanks for the explanation about the rods , Blue . Actually I was really bad the other day as I had a carbon rod ( Century Armalite mk.3 ) as my right hand rod ,and a fibreglass rod ( Jack Hilton Carp ) as my left hand rod ; I just live life on the edge . 😁
  2. Blue ! , how on earth do you expect to catch when your rods aren't identical ? . To me it looks like one rod is a darker cane than the other , and the reel fittings are different . πŸ™„
  3. Hello Kirky . The last time I looked ,probably last year ? , there was a sign on the gate " Bosmere Angling Club ,Needham Market 721487 " . I believe the chap who runs the water is Robert Markwell . If Nick reads this post he will know if I'm correct . πŸ˜ƒ
  4. So it sounds just like Elmo said , that someone simply threw the stake away . I guess the the blokes in YOUR swim swore blind there was no stake there ? . There must be a better way to reserve a swim ? . It's a credit to you that it sounds that you're more upset for your mate .
  5. Oh dear , what's the matter , BB ? . Did you want to share with the forum , and maybe someone will have an answer to your problem , or it might be good to get what ever is bothering you off your chest .
  6. Thanks very much for all your answers , and I must change my fish care procedures . I started to read Yonny's 1st. post , and I thought " he's going to mention sealing nasties in " - oh poo I've been using MCP's Propolis . So reading all the replies I'll go back to my Gardner Intensive Care which is a few years old . I've also got some Kryston Klinik which is even older . Also I'll stick to treating just wounds where the flesh is broken and there is bleeding . πŸ˜ƒ
  7. Hi Everyone What are the panels views on when to buy a new Carp Care Solution , i.e. do the solutions lose their effectivness over time please ? . Also is Propolis the solution to buy ? . Ta . πŸ˜ƒ

    Mice

Thanks , Greekskii . I think I'll try a plug in for the mice . I guess I'm not allowed to use mantraps for human pests ? . 😁
  10. Good luck on your hunt for Chestnut . πŸ˜ƒ

    March catch reports

That looks like a big old Tench ! .

    Mice

Thanks for all the replies fellas . I have 2 old fridge freezers in my garage so I can store my bait safely , but my rods , nets , and lugage won't fit . From your replies it reads that I'll just have to carry on storing my bigger items indoors - damn ! . πŸ₯²

    Mice

Hi Everyone In the Winter I bring the more chewable bits of my tackle indoors . Now it's getting warmer do you think I am safe to put all my fishing gear back in my garage , or do you think Mice will still be on the lookout for nest making material please ? . πŸ˜ƒ

    March catch reports

Cup half full , at least they're not slimy Bream 😁.
  15. Um , so just out of interest , Kev , how do you charge the Pet Pad waterside , or do you charge it up at home ? . πŸ•
  16. Is this any way to treat a pedigree ! . πŸ•
  17. Hi Kev. Didn't you mean good people , and Elmo ? . I'd rather go with Jack . 😁
  18. It seems everyone needs you to download their App. , can't have a physical piece of plastic anymore . Then you find that you need a new mobile as it isn't new enough to support the App. . As I'm well into my sixties I feel like I'm being marginalised , and the world's just for youngsters like Elmo ! . 😁
  19. I agree , Elmo . Yes my Deeper Pro+ is so much quicker at mapping than a marker float , and lead , but I can never find the interesting spots the Deeper finds later on with my Marker .
  20. Thanks very much , Blue . Now I have some thinking to do , as I believe I own the Sharpes Scottie you mention ( have to get my tape measure out ) . The thing is for speed at the end of a session I leave my rods , complete with pop up , tackled up and just take them apart and put them in a rod sleeve . I don't think a cane rod would appreciate this sort of abuse . I did meet Chris Ball once , and he mentioned that as waters were weedier these days he had moved from using a cane rod to a fibreglass Jack Hilton Carp 1 1/2 t/c . πŸ€”
  21. Hi Blue . I should be going to The Yorkshire Vintage Tackle Fair next month which made me think " if Blue. could only keep 1 of his cane rods which 1 would it be ? " . Also " Is the B. James Mk. 4 Carp Rod the best rod to have ? " . πŸ˜ƒ
  22. Just thought of another question please , Blue . Do you have a preference as to what time of year you fish with prawns ? . πŸ˜ƒ

    Weed

    But I don't smoke 😒 .
  24. You mean you didn't rush outside , and say " it's o.k.Wifey , I , Framey your Husband will scrape your car windscreen " ? . ☺️
  25. I think I remember Chris Ball writing in the little book he wrote with Brian Skoyles that he used 6lb ( ? ) Maxima paired with a 9ft. Seeker rod to catch carp up to 30lbs . I might pull on my big boy pants , and use 10lb Hydrotuff , because I stress about snags , and I don't know if I have the cojones to go down to 8lb .😱 Just a case of balanced tackle I guess ? . πŸ˜ƒ
