  1. If I'm not mistaken tiger line is fluorocarbon line , therefore sinks. Why would you want your line to sink into thick weed or onto a very rugged lake bed?? That's just asking for cut offs in my opinion.
  2. i to have the big bertha dd, coupled up with an emblem spod reel and hit 100yds plus with relative ease. had this rod donkeys years and its still as stiff as when i first got it. some rods definitely soften up over time but not this one.
  3. they look good to me. since changing my hook pattern to the curve shank pattern similar to yours ive not lost a fish and every time they are nailed bang centre of the bottom lip. well more like an inch or so back in the mouth. don't be afraid to use bottom baits or wafters/ critically balanced baits with this rig either. id say 90% of my fishing is now done with this rig.
  4. ive heard on more than one occasion that the size 6 kranks have been known to open up and drop fish as a consequence. i use the krank hook a lot but only in size 4 and never had a problem with them. the bigger hook may also help with balancing your rig better. when i use the krank in size 4 i use 18mm waftas made by premier baits and they are spot on.
  5. im also after a new bed and this one sounds good. can i just ask how low is the bed to the ground? a low bed is not good for my back so the higher the better for me. cheers
  6. well ive never had an issue with the mouthtrap. i use the 25lb version and nothing else and its been spot on.
  7. so in all i had fish of 48-00, 45-04, 38-00,33-00,27-08 and 19-04. 6 anglers went and we managed 48 fish in total, with my one mate having the biggest and most. he had a 66lb mirror plus 3x50's and 5x40's and the rest of his 18 fish haul 30's and 20's. so despite the bad weather which we had as a group we done ok or at least my mate did
  8. oh and this one at 38lb dead. sorry for the 3 posts but not sure how to upload 3 pics at once. as most will know posting one is a nightmare normally for me
  9. also had this one at 45lb 04oz
  10. well a year has past more or less since i started this thread and ive just got back from this years trip to bluewater lake. i managed 6 fish in total. the biggest 48lb on the button.
  11. korda mouth trap in 25lb. the best chod rig material ive seen and used in my opinion
  12. yes cm i have or rather i am. im using your particle on one rod and boilie on another. granted the fish have been in spawning mode the last couple of weeks but these blokes still winkle them out.
  13. its not the cell mr newmarket. anyone that talks to them says that everything is always out of site. when theyve packed up no dropped bits or nothing. this could be a job for poirot or marple . i saw one go to his motor on saturday and all he got out was a pressure cooker with its lid on. so particles is my guess unless he fancied a nice stew at 9 in the morning lol
  14. whatever the carps dietary needs are i think 2 blokes on one of my lakes knows exactly what that is. they are machines, and not blanked yet whilst all around are blanking good and proper, including me and they do this on every lake they fish so im told. if only they liked the odd beer i could maybe get them talking lol
  15. i do still want him to go and he can take a few players with him
  16. you got it now but if you hadn't i would of suggested the use of korda mouthtrap for your rig material. the best out there in my opinion
  17. when i use inlines which is very rare, i use atomic tackles inline leads. they have a slot built into them so when you get a pick up the lead goes up your line and drops off everytime
  18. thats not a krank hook, its a short shank curve. be that a korda, esp, fox who knows. just a simple knotless knot/coated braid rig. ideal for a bottom bait

i use a few, korda kranks in size 4 for wafter hookbaits. korda wide gapes in sizes 4 and 6 for pops and bottoms and also carporium longshanks in size 6 once again for pops and bottoms. the last 2 patterns depend on which of my lakes im on. and then for chods i use jrc mbt4 in size 4, these are now discontinued but i brought 10 packs when i heard they were to be no more once these are used up then it will be korda chod kranks.
  20. dont think it matters in my opinion. i fish them both and ive caught on both.
  21. seen too but in size 6 and smaller, i use the size 4s and haven't had a problem
  22. i know for a fact premier baits use nothing but fresh eggs. i was there once just after they took delivery of 2 pallets of eggs and they were over 6ft tall. something like 10,000 eggs or something silly like that, all needing to be cracked by hand . some firms use buckets of broken eggs etc. for me using whole egg powder may give you a slight edge as most baits are made using liquid egg, be they fresh, broken etc
  23. just been using the normal crank hooks tied up with a knotless knot on a 10" hooklink and with my usual wafter hookbait with a spread of boilies. i have purchased the chod cranks but have yet to use them as my fishing situation doesnt warrant a chod at the moment, also im very reluctant to change my current choice of chod hook if im honest. but i have some incase
  24. whether the crank hooks are new or not is neither here nor there for me, i walked into my local tackle shop, saw them, liked them, used them and ive landed every hooked fish on them since. i would of brought them if they had been fox, e.s.p, ace, nash or whoever, its the first time ive seen a hook pattern like this apart from in match fishing where a size 14 hook is no good to me. and i dont purchase items on the back of a dvd or whatever. i make my own choices and my own mistakes and i learn by them.
  25. it was a great week thanks. and they are as much related as hitler was with martin luther king
