  1. I consider floater fishing to be stalking.
  2. @Highy, get an ANKER off Amazon. Reasonably priced and very good quality.
  3. Agree lads. That's a big risk to take. A game changer no less.
  4. Schoolboy error my friend!!!! Agree.
  5. You'd struggle big time imo mate, not good for distance. I once did a France trip with 30 odd kg and my spot was 100+. Baited with the stick all week, absolutely destroyed me. I pulled my shoulder, blistered my hands, all sorts😫 I remember the shoulder got better weeks and weeks later and just as I thought it was sorted I climbed a tree on a local pit and pulled it again lol.
  6. I'd like to see a carbon barrow. It'd cost a fortune but would be a fantastic weight saver.
  7. Dunno @oscsha, stick is good for up to 120 max imo, no good at 120+.
  8. My approach would be to fill it in with hemp and boilies. The carp will smash the hemp to bits, it'll wean them on to the boilies. Once they're eating the boilies I'd drop the hemp entirely. Best and quickest way to empty an un-fished lake imo.
  9. Yes mate, that's normally the root cause.
  10. That can only happen if the hook hasn't penetrated far enough mate. Not the fault of the hook. Just unlucky buddy.
  11. Agree, the trick is hitting the clip just right I.e. not too high, not too low.
  12. @Bgl you're replying to an 11 year old post bud.
  13. @chillfactor they can take AGES to arrive, but they are decent mate 👍
  14. It's not luck imo. We all have the choice in what we do, but few have the drive or desire to really succeed imo, in any discipline. Imo it is very easy to succeed in this country. But most Brits can't be bothered though.
  15. Didn't Bale come from the working class lol? Yup. I couldn't care less how much Bale gets paid, fair play to the fella imo, but I hate what money has done to the game itself. The Prem is Micky Mouse now, no loyalty, no pride, all about money, and the Championship et al is following suit. I was bought up a football fan, I loved it. But the game is no longer what I once loved. I don't even watch MOTD any more. It's a real shame.
  16. Exactly that mate👍 To suit the angling situation...... I'll always have the alarms set as sensitive as I can get away with given the conditions.
  17. Fair play @Dicky123, I agree with you, I see guys not thinking about their angling all the time. Doing what they see on YouTube instead, just like your example.
  18. Imo you should apply tactics based on the angling situation and the observations you make. Not because Alan Blair told you to. That is not thinking angling imo. See above dude.
  19. Lol. No. Main reason I use them all the time (regardless of distance and hence how tight i fish my lines) is to tell me if I'm getting done/if the lead has moved. When I'm getting liners, as long as that line stays in the clip I'll leave the rod. If it pings out without developing into a full blown take I'll assume the lead has been moved and re-cast. Tends to work, I can't remember the last time I needed to recast (normally if that line leaves the clip I'm in).
  20. Isotopes are only produced in a couple of factories worldwide so most are the same. I can vouch for the ones you found on the bay, I have some off him. Go for green mate. All isotopes are green, that's what colour the chemicals are. Any other colour is added to the green which makes it duller. By the time it's dark enough to see the isotopes you'll not be able to see your heads so I wouldn't worry about that.
  21. I use them all the time.
  22. The places I fish/have fished in France aint runs waters and are pretty far to drive. Can't help you bud.
  23. I've never made sense of the naming convention regards size mate.
  24. I was thinking about this product and it reminds of bait drills (the ones for boring out pop ups for foam). I started with drill bits many years ago, way before a tackle firm bought one out. When they did bring one out (Korda I think it was) I bought one and it did make life easier. Same deal imo.
