  1. I used Manila and krill they both catch fish now and again but so do cheesy wotsits I was using mainline with a fair bit of success then went to sticky catch rate dropped and back on mainline baits again.
  2. Spoke to Tom at fosters today he said he had only had 2 come back to shop
  3. Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed that he's been wearing a t-shirt under his top ever since his last goal and will show it off next time he scores. It says "Free Nelson Mandela"
  4. Love mine can't fault them had them few years now
  5. I have fished Cromwell for last 2yrs brilliant 5* fishery well kept, cracking fish with a few 40's and lots of 20's and 30's ring the night before you go tho it gets very busy
  6. I have used drennan 12lb double strength with simple knotless knot on many occasions and can't say I can remember it ever letting me down, even with fish upto 34lb in extremely weedy water I will say that if I use mono its the only mono I use for simple carp rigs I have used the 8lb double strength on waters with the average stamp of fish 14-15lb and never had problems with that either
  7. Carl, just put in perfection loop in google.
  8. I just use a bit of braid, Ian. Put the bait on like a normal hair stop and then tie the tag ends to your rig ring. There are a few products out now with bait screws and spikes designed for chod rigs.
  9. I have had the slx mark 1 for 3 years and its still going strong and it's been used A LOT and thought about getting the slx v2 just because it has a peak, I just spent two months in Wigan and I was melting inside my bivvy because I was wearing a full dress suit and full thermal underwear it was very hot, That made my mind up that my next bivvy would have proper coat hooks like my brolly (jrc stealth ll) because the cats can climb through the vents which is so much better in the heat, But as we don't get much sun over here i would say yes get one.
  10. All of them except Robson green, using a bow and arrow to catch carp made me sick but the rest of them are all worth watching, catching the impossible my favourite
  11. I would have it more like a wafter if I was using a pop up but tbh if fishing a hard clay bottom I would fish a bottom bait with a piece of fake corn.
  12. the cost of tackle is ridiculous these days any way of making it cheaper is good and you really will see how easy it is one day and you will kick yourself for wasting your money on ready tied rigs, and to get perfect presentation you will need to tie your own because the length of hair will not match your hook baits, you will need to match your baits to the hair.
  13. those rigs are so easy to tie i wouldn't bother i would get your own hooks and tie your own you will realize how easy a knotless knot is to do once you have done it
  14. there is a face book page 50 shades of birmingham that i have read and found extremely funny have a look
  15. the chod
  16. i just trim a cell pop up to shape of dog biscuit it doesn't come off when casting wet like a biscuit does and is a very similar color to a wet biscuit.
  17. i will show them at sandhurst lewis i have not had any problems at all in fact since i started using these leaders my catch rate has gone up i only use them for chod rigs and as long as the bead slides of the leader ok and on to the line i can't see a much safer or simple rig you can fish a naked chod but that needs to be weighed down with putty or sinkers and the line some people use may not contour the bottom sweetly, these leaders do an excellent job and very slow sinking with the chod, had 2, 15lbers 1,26lber 2,30+ and my latest capture in 3 sessions all using solar leaders, and unless they get banned or i'm not allowed to use them on a water,i will carry on using them the results speak for them self
  18. nice one dan not seen that before
  19. Btw I do soak them in glug either cell or plum
  20. I use size 7 ESP hooks with the tic tacs but the tic tacs look too small for the hook size but let me tell you I have had more 30+ fish on this method than any other
  21. You can use Korda sinkers and push your bead over top of sinker or use lead stops and mould a bit of putty round it. Another tip is to not use hole already in bead stop but to make new one with baiting needle this will hold the beads a bit tighter on the line with the ability to slide up and down the line if you get a fish on. You will need to pull line through bead with baiting needle tho.
  22. have to agree with nick keep things as simple as possible only in difficult swims that are hard will i try different rigs just to see if something different will work but most of my rigs are very very simple
