Meant to be the quietest of their waters.. 17 acres... Few hundred fish.... Fast growers stocked about 10 years back, with some originals and some "born in the lake" from stockies……… Had a look at a couple of their waters myself...… Lords is pretty deep and bowl shaped, not too many features to fish to in open water...….. Reed fringed and quiet, due to location and not holding the biggest fish of their venues, but fish to over 30lbs.. Everything is on the link..... If you want a phone number, find their FB page, it's on there...…… Hope this helps.... The fish are a bit of a mixed bag, some stunners and some not so, but some crackers in amongst....  If you are looking for somewhere quiet to fish, worth a look... It is literally in the middle of nowhere, on the Cambs fens......

dayvid got a reaction from salokcinnodrog in Beginning of a decline do you think?
    LOL , I think Ginger991 is 31 and a stab in the dark here , Nicks 48.
As regards to being checked whilst Carp fishing I think the last time was probably in the 90s , but have been checked several times during matches on match/pleasure commercial fisheries .
The higher the volume of people on a venue regularly ,the more chance of being checked.

Have a look at the Saber head torch, rechargeable by usb and has an action activated light so when your alarm goes off in the middle of the night just wave your hand over the general area where the torch is and it will light up, brilliant and only around £16.00!

When I started fishing 50 or more years ago, I was "naturally" drawn to it. No video's to watch, maybe Jack Hargreaves on the telly showing you the basics, but that was about it.
We learnt how to make do with the tackle we had, starting off catching minnows and gudgeon, and progressing on to bigger (hopefully) fish. If you were lucky, you'd catch a 5lb Tench!!
Carp fishing was almost unheard of as a "branch" of fishing, and the guys that used to fish solely for them were looked on as some kind of "weirdo", moving in the shadows or only seen at night. You imagined them carrying out some form of satanic ritual using baits that were completely foreign to us lads.
No internet in those days, you'd spend your spare time trawling around your local tackle shops buying bits and pieces as you could afford them, collecting a variety of floats as you went along, with always one becoming your favourite and you'd almost be in tears if you lost it.
Fast forward 50 years and anybody with a few bob to spare can become an instant carper. You can go onto ebay, and buy a "complete" carp kit for less than £50.00. Add a £3.00 bag of boilies from Decathlon, and you're away.  Tip up at your local hole in the ground, pay your money and pull out a 20lb Mirror that looks like it's just landed from the planet fugly.  Now you consider yourself an expert in the field, not knowing (or caring) that some old boy, years ago, spent his fishing lifetime trying to catch a fish that big,
There are more people on the bank fishing today thanks to the carp industry. But there are a lot less "anglers" than there used to be.

Absolutely knackered been pulling weed out of a lake all day . Can barely grip the phone lol.  Amazing how quick the fish were moving in behind me picking off the naturals.  Certainly food for thought.
Do we give to much credence to spooking fish ? Get wading & kicking up the bottom & dragging weed about & your see what I mean . Dinner 🔔

Your Dangly bits should most definitely be removed!

First thing in the morning is spotting time, not baiting up time😉
I have been out on a lake in a boat first thing in the morning over my baited spots, and if I didn't catch the night before, my bait is usually still there untouched. There are some occasions when I had been sussed, or a tangled rig prevented a take, but very few.
Carp and other fish cannot visit every spot in the lake that has food on it every night, and they simply can't eat it all. Add to that night time darkness takes, they cannot see the rig, so it is suck and blow ejection, not visibly avoid.
Carp do not  always feed at night on every water, I have had numbers of fish during the day. Some are night waters, but some are definitely waters where the carp will feed during the day.
If you do catch first thing, the only bait to put in is with a PVA bag or stringer, don't be spodding loads more in. Even cattying baits in can be enough to spook some fish. The splash of a lead and PVA is one splash. Cattied or throwing sticked baits is numbers of splashes, as for the spod/Spomb...

If I was turning up for a day session then all my baiting is nearly always done with PVA, a single chuck with a stringer or bag. It is very rare I spod in. It is extremely unfair on other anglers, disrespectful and plain ignorant. If no-one else is on the lake, maybe I will if I know the fish respond to loads of bait,  and maybe if I am baiting up for later, but most definitely not around other anglers,
Just a few first light fish:
