  1. The XTD 14000 (I think) is the Rolls Royce reel of reels at moment...everyone wants em and there's quite a few up for sale.... Had a little play with my mates at weekend...OMG absolutely smooth on the cast and retrieve, the line lay is unreal.
  2. Suits sll needs, leading, marking, spodding...
  3. I've just found 4, ultegra 14000 XTD for £300...spare spools (still boxed with labels on), Ice washers, 1 reel never out box....went to message him...with inn10mins of post the sold...non wonder at that price. Also looking at the Vader X Pro 10000.... I'm between the 2 now....
  4. Exactly same as what I use...Paired with Sonik Spod Reel, but swapped the Braid. Exactly what I've also done, big enough for a spombt to fit through the hole though... https://www.carpfeed.com/fishing-advice/how-to/carp-hack-the-two-loop-trick I used mine at the weekend to fire out the marker setup to bait round the float, I also used it to cast out the deeper to find a hole I've known about. 7.3ft hole, I wanted to fish in front of it on the flat spot... I've used it for Leading About, Casting Feeper, Casting Spomb, Marker Finding....a good tool.
  5. I think they will spawn the jubilee week on my club ware, this week cloudy weather, then 2 weeks of 20+ degrees weather.
  6. I nipped mates house while little en was at footy training, the Ultegra xtd 14000 are honestly the best looking and feel of any reel I've handled. The occelation, feel, look, drag, line lay, clutch....OMG think I'm set on these reels now.
  7. I'll talk to anyone me, but if I make the effort and they can't be bothered "see ya later pal" that me done. There was 1 lad when I was on my club water, he reckons he owns the lake, rocks up any time of day/night... I went to left side of him, fishing 1 down the left margin, 1 about 4 rods out.... All hell broke loose from him... Why you side of me? (it was a double peg I was in for me n mate) You better not Spod pal? (got mi boat)... Then about an hour in I sent boat out 11 wraps (arrow straight in front of me)... He says your in my swim... I says come here then ill show you... He was actually in mine... Then he puts a post of the club Facebook page kicking off about boats and how they should be banned.... But says the lad who spods 5kg (2kg limit on any session) regardless time of day/night he turns up.
  8. Honestly, I've only got the 2 who I really go fishing with, or it's on my own with the pooch.... This weekend it's with my lad n Dog.... 1 mate doing 24hr from Saturday morning, 1 mate doing the day Sunday. I've just setup my marker rod, gonna give em abit of bait when there Friday night, but not fish on it until tea time day after.... 1 rod out, 1 rod margins.
  9. A mate who I haven't fished with in a while is out with us at weekend... Im doing from Friday night until Su day morning... He's turning up Su day morning... He's the mate who sells up, buys again, sells up, buys again.... This time he's sold all his match/coarse gear and bought all NEW Carp this morning. Sonik Vader X RS 3 Rod n Reel setup, Sonik Landing Net, the New Sonik Vader X 3 Rod alarm set, Sonik Stanz 3 Rod buzz bars n sticks, SKTek rod Holdall n Carryall, Korda Tackle Box with just enough terminal to fill it... He's off his rocker... But will have a good FINAL setup eventually he says... Now wants an AXS Bivvy n all SKTek range to go with it. Then tomorrow he's off for some Sticky Bait, unhooking may, Chair. He has asked to buy his trakker Barrow back, but I've took the bag off n swapped out wheels, to put on my Fox Barrow.

  11. Seen 1 or 2 of these on my club lake, a fella with his Mrs usually on and the maoooooosive.... His bait ops too, think its the Royal King Bait Boat (does say KING on the back of it)...thought it was a dingy at first.
  12. Same here....stick to fishing. I had a game of footy on Sunday, mate asked want a kick about, thinking like heads n volleys r summat..... Nah. 16 of us on a full size pitch.... I used to be fit, now I'm still aching from it, only thing I'm running for now is my alarms. Was a good crack though and I was on winning team 9-8.
  13. Pellet for pre bait Hookbaits all same flavour, different colour n sizes... Created own cultured
  14. I've only nearly only used last of my Krill... Still got 90% Manilla n pellets.
  15. I was looking at 1 of these not so long back... I'm using the SKTek Armchair -(when on my own) and the SKTek Recliner Armchair (when the lad comes).... Both are quite padded and comfy.
  16. Hi Guys, Been looking at the Shimano Aerlex XTB Reels.... Any one had any views on these.... Reduced from £89.99 to £69.99 at A.D
  17. Heard they are a good bit of kit, quick put up,.... They look pretty spacious but not seen in the flesh. Also heavy 20kg +,
  18. I've been looking at the Ridgemonkey 1 Man compact...
  19. I dont necessary use for fish, try to find spots, holes, bumps etc.... If fish are there/near then a bonus. Like at weekend, if I didn't use the Deeper, I wouldn't of known about how much weed was in that place without it, I did also drag a lead through, it did help to find smaller weedy areas.
  20. All this about Tech inside a tennis ball size gadget.... Yes it was Deeper reply.
  21. That was the reply from Deeper I got this morning....
  22. It is impossible to determine the exact size of the fish using sonar technology - this is related to how all sonars work and ultra-sound physics. However, strength of the ultra-sound reflection from the fish can be a good indication of how big it may be, because naturally bigger fishes reflect ultra-sound differently from smaller fishes. Fish Icons functions looks at the strength of the sonar return from the fish and decides whether it could be a small / medium / big one. However, the strength of the ultra-sound return can also depend on many other conditions - depth, form of the fish, how clear the water is, etc. So, you should look at different size of fish icons as an approximate evaluation of the size of the fish, but not as exact measurement. It is impossible to say that Big fish icons means that it is more than 20 or 35 cm long, but when you see big icon - there is a very good chance that the fish is big. Regarding the Fish Icons feature- The fish icons are assigned by an algorithm. Unfortunately, the algorithm can make mistakes and it is very difficult to calibrate it to be 100% accurate. To understand why, it's important to understand how sonars work and why they see things underwater. A sonar sends out waves of ultrasound and the ultrasound reflects off of various objects underwater. We see fish because ultrasound reflects off their air bladders - the rest of the body is usually not seen by the sonar because fish bodies are of the same density as water. There is a lot of air underwater which means that a lot of things may look similar or identical to fish, which is why fish icons can be assigned to things that are not fish. For example - air bubbles rising from vegetation on the bottom or air bubbles that occur in active water, like near a dam. There are some other things that also provide similar reflections and may be misinterpreted as fish. To this day, no sonar maker has a 100% accurate fish detection system, which is why all sonar makers (for example Garmin, Humminbird, Lowrance) advise not to use fish icons. Experienced sonar users will also recommend against using fish icons. Fish icons are useful if you're new to sonars and do not understand what you are looking at, but we recommend learning to interpret the readings yourself. We have some basic information that will get you started in these articles: https://deepersonar.com/uk/en_gb/how-it-works/how-sonars-work https://deepersonar.com/uk/en_gb/how-it-works/how-to-read-fishfinder https://deepersonar.com/uk/en_gb/how-it-works/how-to-read-a-fish-finder-chirp They cover the basics of how sonars work and how to interpret the data. This doesn't mean that you'll be able to understand everything perfectly, but it's a good foundation to begin learning on. It takes some time to be able to read the screen well and that comes with experience.
  23. Just asked Deeper (UK)...😁
