When man interferes with nature we tend to balls it up

I intend to do some sea fishing locally for the cod this winter, in my angling past I’ve sold my gear from sea fishing to freshwater to sea boat fishing and back again. All the best Keith just be happy with your fishing 👍 @ the mods can’t we have a sub forum for the sea angler’s among us ?

I think my carp fishing is over for the foreseeable future, I'm just so bored with it at the moment, I won't be renewing my night card or day ticket. I actually went shore fishing a couple of weeks ago and I'm back in love with my sea fishing, I went with a couple of mates and had a great time, I only caught a few whiting but the thing is you don't know what's on the end of that line, I had to borrow a rod and reel from my mate, because I'd sold all my gear but guess what I'm starting a fresh with new gear and I can't wait. I did keep 1 rod and tomorrow I'm going out to buy a new reel. I will be hanging around on the forum and keeping my eye on things, it's been great being part of this forum and had great advice and learnt a lot in my short time in carp fishing but my first love for fishing has always been sea fishing even though it involves more travelling and cost but I don't really care, it's all about enjoying my fishing and over the last 2 years I've not really been enjoying myself. We’ve all had to do it one time or another, hope your Mrs has a speedy recovery…. Just don’t spend to much money on gear you don’t need on your lay off from fishing 😉

Thankfully it's not up to you lol I will carry on with the lead clip because as you've pointed out, set up as I do it comes off - always! 👍

After the local nature reserve blamed dogs for killing off most of the bird life they must of admitted to themselves there is a problem they were more honest this year and said it was either mink or otter. There is even talk of opening up what used to be called halting sites, for travellers but I think it will be more the van life crowd that are calling for it, hippies on the move working off the Internet.

A friend of mine walked his dog (a large staffy type) down the local canal in the suburbs of Leicester in the day time, was followed by an otter, thought oh this is nice until it got out onto the tow path and challeged both of them. He had to run away, these things are far removed from the original animal.

and so they should be concerned - on the last 2 syndicate complexes I've fished it was clear that Swans were on the menu, but they're just the easiest for us to see, ground nesting birds are being decimated. If they reintroduced Wolves would Farmers be expected to just accept loss of livestock?

Yes was very sad, I just hope it all works out for him, I never met him but had some good chats with him and we shared some ideas and he made me some special concoctions the last bait he made me was going to be our little secret for a while,as we both felt it was a great tweak and a bit special, and it did work too, but yes great angler, he seems to be loving the barbel fishing these days, and he's caught some mahoosive monster chub recently too, As for me I'm sure I will find another boilie that will work, but I will miss having the chats and doing the tinkerings , that's the bit I will find hardest to replace, that's what made it that bit special, all his baits I used caught first time out as well, put in the right spot they couldn't resist them, made me look like I knew what I was doing 😀
