  1. I wish it were that simple mate! I’ve got to render the back of the house, the bitumen paint is for the bay window roof and the kitchen roof (an extension) needs to be completely stripped and the felt replaced... then it’s repaint the exterior front and back, then redecorate the entire interior which has just been replastered throughout. I’ve done a new kitchen and bathroom so it’s bringing it all together now. lockdown has a lot to answer for!! 🙄

    Welcome to carpy fat club

I thought I would do a little update, apart from my shocking diet this week at fishing and birthday meals etc , I've still been sticking to no sugar in tea and somehow I've still managed to lose some weight, I am now at 21st 2lb for a 12lb total loss, hopefully this coming week I can hit a stone, that's the goal for this week, 👍 Loose belts everybody 👍👌

  5. Especially as he was a London firefighter from the 70s to the 90s! Mind you, he did go over to the London fire boat, so maybe he learnt a lesson!! Lol!

  6. Thanks pal, a very important point! Many people don’t! Fortunately I have several bags of sand from knocking up sand/cement mixes to build a wall/repairing masonry work so I’ve been using them to secure the ladder. My dad fell off a ladder while on a roof years ago and badly injured himself plus going to ladder related accidents in my work on ambulances has highlighted the risks so I’ve always been wary of ladders! it’s ironic that he was a firefighter, you would have thought he’d be good on ladders!

    Thought of the Day pt.2

That’s sounds like a lot of work. You be careful up there... tie the ladder off and a bag of sand at the foot of the ladder

  9. Ooh, that's neat! I have a friend in Zwolle, he can make a visit there before he comes here next time. If they ever lift the travel ban, that is...

  10. I always play fish by back winding, so to me it is second nature to tighten the baitrunner spool and click the anti-reverse off. After a while You don't think about it, even after waking up at night to a take.

  11. Just put your finger on the spool and tighten the clutch buddy. I have used several none baitrunner, none QD reels (tournies for example) and never come close to losing anything. Just don't panic, pick up the rod, tighten the clutch, happy days. You'd be looking at the Windcast/Crosscast for this kind of money. I'm a Daiwa user but I don't actually rate the budget models. If you can stretch to 130ish the Emblem 35 SCW 5000C QD is worth looking at but might be tricky to find them in stock anywhere at the moment.
