Or the Harrison stick £30 and it’s carbon so won’t break the bank you could get a piece of 20mm electricians conduit and Cut it put a plug in the end and make it yourself total cost will be around £5

  2. EA are always identified in EA kit. They have to be. Stab vests as mentioned before. If he wasn’t then he wasn’t EA and was pulling one over on you. I’d report it to both fishery and your local EA office so they know someone is impersonating them. never known EA to act like that...they just ask for your license and not do it sneakily by false pretences. They’d also use a handheld device to check if you’d forgotten it.

    Throwing stick.

I need a better throwing stick I've got a gardner scorpion at the moment and I was struggling to throw 80 yards last night and this morning, it wasn't weather conditions or anything like that I just couldn't get the distance. Any recommendations with out breaking the bank, I don't want to go down the carbon fibre route I just don't have the funds for that. Cheers in advance. 😁👍🎣

    Cog lead and Rigs

And it should be easy to do so... however 2 points of attachment should the line break above the lead is not a good concept... I'm out as I'll not use that system... and as you've stated, you have no desire to either, so its a moot point but for different reasons

    Cog lead and Rigs

I meant so that the short swivel detached from the lead during fight which it did not , this meant that the lead was still attached to the end game at 2 points, making the whole system potentially dangerous... I've never been a fan of ditching the lead in any circumstance other than safety... I can understand the concept of the COG system, but its execution was flawed...

    Cog lead and Rigs

I think it's a case of the swivel being pushed into the lead too tightly. Same as a lot of guys do with tail rubbers. Imo it's the anglers fault, not the gear.

    Cog lead and Rigs

I understand the theory of a COG lead. i am not convinced it is the way to go but if I did, I think the Fox version is much simpler and safer.

I used its predecessor (the distance Cobra Quick Stick) and the main shaft broke off at the handle in the first season lol. Typical Nash. But the new one looks like it's one piece so should stand up to a bit more abuse.

I'll have a look at the nash one, it's more in my price range. I am a tight northerner you know. 😂🤣

It is mate. Great stick, but not the one for distance. The Pro-Pela is the one for distance (but it is carbon and about 60/70 quid😬). Nash do a distance one in plastic for about 15 quid. I've not used it or even seen it but might be worth checking out if you're on a budget.

I think that is the problem with the scorpion stick I have at the moment it is too short. I'll have a look at your recommendation's cheers. 👍

Shows how different we all are I can put a bait a long way out with a straight stick but a curved one it goes in at my feet or not far at all lol even modifying the way I use it I can’t get a bait further than 20 or 30 yards lol Johnson Ross still have it listed but not in stock

    Too much bait

The problem is there are too many guys that are prepared to chuck kilos and kilos in when they are unable to determine whether there are feeding fish in front of them or not. There is no problem using big qty's of bait if you're on them and it's getting eaten. People need to use their eyes. You can tell if your spot is getting smashed to bits.

For real distance you need the ACA/Frank Warwick stick but they are like rocking horse poop nowadays. Second to that you have the Century one which is £££££ or the Gardner Pro-Pela which is what I'd recommend buddy.

    Too much bait

Most anglers put far too much bait out when they fish. The problem us that they turn up on a day ticket lake, even a club lake and immediately want to fish over 'their' own bait, without knowing what is there already, what other anglers have put in, so spod or Spomb in 5kilos of spod mix. The fish don't have to move far to feed, they are able to pick and choose. It doesn't help right now that the water is so warm, the air and water temperatures are high, the fish are just mooching because the weather is uncomfortable to feed heavily in. Best way to fish for most is just a hookbait with PVA bag or stringer. There are times when putting plenty of bait in us the right thing to do, but I don't think most anglers know the waters they fish well enough.
