That's great thanks. Well I've had one fish out today on the combi 360 rig with a pop up but the fishing is pretty slow all round the lake. Only a little one but better than nothing!
All the Chestnut teams will be out soon they fill sacks up near me and sell them on must be some money in it. between them and the locals that have a few the squirrels must be starving by mid-winter. they use a stick to turn the leaves over, must of grabbed a few dog truffles in the past.
In the pic I have used a braided mainline hair as crayfish will cut dental floss or light mono. The hair is just granny knotted to the hook eye, then shrink tube over the hooklink knot, eye and shank so the hair comes off opposite halfway between the point and barb, the best place I have found for decent hooking.
Deep waters tend to shut up shop in winter, they hold those cold temps and even the best conditions cant warm them up. Shallower waters have the chance to respond to higher winter temps.
Either way, I've spent many a winter on low stock pits. One fish a year is a mega result. Most years it's no fish.
If you have the balls then go for it but nowadays I tend to go for higher stocked waters in winter. Any fish is a result when the temps drop imo.
Good luck bud👍👍
