  1. What you need is my top secret method Find em, feed em, then eff it right up

  2. The tactic I have most confidence in through out the year is a good quality pop up on a multi rig with a scattering of boilie around it. Like yonny said the amount of boilie I put out would depend on fish activity. If that brings me no joy then I’d try particle.

    Summer Baiting approach

In summer i.e. post spawning they'll eat almost anything but I find boilies are at their most effective at that point. In my experience boilie and pellet will out-fish particle at the height of summer. The carp go mental trying to replace the weight/energy/condition they lose during spawning and boilies are pretty much the best bait for doing that imo.

  4. If you need to get some particles out a bit further you could always use groundbait and catapult the balls out that should help , but tbh the margins can be great for setting lovely little traps in the summer, and you can get usually Bait far enough with a catapult i use mine more than my spod tbh good luck

  5. Nothing wrong with margin fishing😉 I think honestly I have caught far more carp under 20metres from the bank than at longer range, including fish to over 30lb from under my rod tips. Baiting up by hand or catapult is a whole lot easier than spodding. I usually use a mix of boilies and particles in my summer fishing however I put it out

    Thought of the Day pt.2

Looks good Highy And actually may have given me an idea to help with my garden I fake grassed last year and never got round to finishing the edge, pallets and decking board would fit a treat I reckon it's a pallet sized gap

  7. Well I guess it depends on where you are fishing, stock levels, the result you want to achieve , what bait you are using and what methods and tactics you and others using round the lake , you just have to try and do your own thing and learn as you go,

  8. I bait according to the level of activity in front of me rather then the time of year. If I'm on fish in summer that normally means filling it in with the spomb.

  10. I fell foul of not thinking about a certain venue hard enough. Ultra low stock, 10 in 6 acres, my 3 fish have come from the first or second night fishing a spot, with no or little previous bait gone on them. Once I tried to feed heavier on those spots to keep them coming back then just didn't. It was either they spooked off the large beds of bait or obviously clean spots or they never got to the hook bait first due to untold amounts of tench and bream. I thought the latter at the time but now, especially after watching Terry's video I realised I'd overlooked the obvious. When I return there it'll be a handful of bait maximum on a spot. Think we all fall in to the trap at times, especially when things go your way at first, and if you cant visibly watch them then it is just a long wait until you realise!
