  1. The French fishery I'm on this June has a barbless rule, too. These hooks look ideally suited, I'll get some. Thanks. Ian.

  2. That must hurt a bit stand out commons like that one are getting rare in most modern lakes, don't think we have had much of a problem with the Os in this part of the midlands, think i might of seen one on canal pool a few years back but it could of been a mink. Few of my favs, had all three of these beauties one early summer evening on pine pool, my favourite time of the year to be out, Even the mozzies were getting in the pics lol

  4. Me and my pal did a week on there a few years ago in March, I caught 3 Low 20s during the week while he blanked... then he knocked a 43 lb mirror called Rosie Out on the last night. Envious is an understatement. All I’d say is lead about as much you can and find your spots. Pick the bait and rigs you’ve got the most confidence in and sit on your hands...choddys did it for us... I mean him 😔

    "Decent" barbless hooks????

Made from high grade Japanese wire, the key improvement has been the introduction of a series of minute horizontal grooves on the inside of the specially designed arrow shaped hook point, where historically the barb would have been. These grooves allow the hook to hold securely in the fish’s mouth when pressure is applied, as the flesh presses into the grooves resulting in a firm hook hold with no slippage. As soon as the pressure is removed the hook returns to a barbless format allowing for easy and safe removal. Simple but so very effective. £5 for 10 hooks...not bad

  6. What Hooks do you normally use? Are these available in Barbless? If so I would stick with what you are confident in and I just like to add a bit of shrink tube to help keep the hook in place.

  7. Your not trying to pass it over the eye of the hook are you ? Most micro ring swivels will pass over a micro barb .

  10. Well lads what can I say , very depressing day to be an angler ! Absolutely no big fish left so the common above has been had this winter as I spotted it in the summer . Even the small amount of fish left the majority of them had half a tail . So from my findings today if your on a water getting hit hard by otters in a few years there be nothing left & what is will more likely be damaged . The future looks proper grim !
