I picked up a set of 3 original RX Digitals (including receiver) off of ebay a couple of years ago. Brilliant alarms, best I’ve ever had. Couldn’t afford them when they first came out but still happy to pay £200 for them second hand.
I think colour is more important than flavour. This year I ran out of my favoured white pop ups so started using any old white things I had lying around. Results continued.
Never done that well on white to be honest .
Washed out pink and purple are my favs.
But I'm sure of I had one brilliant session on white that could change .
I think a lot of people are more concerned about their bobbins looking good bankside than the reasons they are using those bobbins.
I mainly use 2 types, a set of Fox slik bobbins in the main and a set of fox euro swingers for longer range stuff when I want to tension the line. Nothing fancy but they do the job I want them too
It's not all about size of fish, how snaggy is the lake? how much weed? is there mussel beds? is there many gravel bars that could cause cut offs. I fish 15lb for most occasions because I dont know whether i'll be putting the rod in open water or next to a snag. It keeps my options open. I'd never fish anything lighter to snags because you want the abrasion resistance and extra diameter.
