Not a fan of bluey if I'm honest, prefer anchovies or sprat.
-
Watched this, really good he's top notch. Was interesting having the otters on the pond, even that didn't stop him. Didn't he have The Croc and about 15 of his mates in his first 3 nights! Levels above. π

Same here. Gone from the days of opening my chest freezer and seeing 100kg plus of boilies to now seeing no boilies but 50 peelers vac packed into 5's, 5 packs of English squid, 10 wraps of frozen blacks, 4 packs sandeel, 2 pack mackerel and 4 packs of anchovies.
-

JΜThis is the version from this mornings fish, Gardner Mugga, 15mm meshed Nutty Bait pop-up and tungsten weight on the loop.
-
That seems a much better pattern for the 360 I think. One product I found to be a bit of a gamechanger, was the korda balancing weights that attach to the swivel, I did try with a tungsten pop up weight but found unless you slid it right up the loop (kind of making the loop redundant) then the pop up came off the deck and moved too freely for my liking.
-
I did switch to a Gardner Mugga this session and adapted the rig slightly, a loop knot to the swivel, and a sliding pop-up counterweight on the loop. Properly nailed in the mouth.

First thing this morning on a Nutty Bait pop-up: 29lb @crusian 40metres, towards Scotty dog I've just been through my pics and our FACEBOOK group. I have caught it before at the same weight last year. It was one of the 2020 stocking

I have an alternate story lol where my mate filled in his spot and caught sod all and I went in with crumbed boilies and caught all weekend lol fish probably not on the bottom atm anyway so just go in with zigs at various depths lol if you have an allowance of 3 rods then You can have different options on each. fill in 1 zig with 1 and bits on 1. the joys of carp fishing lol

Years ago on Taverham, a mate and I were told that it was not fishing and just a few freebies would be the best way to catch. Dave and I had taken up a 10kg base mix bucket full of hemp. We put the lot in the plateau swim to the astonishment of other anglers. In the morning I think we had 10 carp between us, all over the hemp. All night there was rarely a quiet hour, the carp really got on it. You can fish one rod on limited bait and one on the heavily baited spot. Personally I prefer fishing over bait, you get the bottom constantly being stirred up when the fish are on it, and that can disguise the rigs.

Small common as I was packing up. Doesn't this time of year drive you mad. Spawning, not spawning, spawning, not spawning π€·ββοΈπ€£ Starting to feel like I'm on the wrong water again, think a long session on the reservoir is in order π
-
Water temps will be good, if no one else is doing it then invite them all to the party if nothing else you will have a clear spot for next session.
-
That would be my first port of call. Find a proper, clean spot, near some carp. Fill it in, present over it. There's 200 carp in there. There's a massive hit to be had somehow.
-
But then that could kill it even more lol its all a headache and keep blanking isnt nice if that means that much to catch personally I go to get away from real life my last 3 visits to a bank were socials and the rods were only in the water for a couple of hours a day over the course of a weekend. βTake what you will from this. You might say that the bailiff should not be ignored, after all they know the water as well as anyone. On the flip side, doing what others suggest takes away from what really matters which is figuring the place out. I have to say that not using a rig because it's in vouge is completely illogical. By all means try to be different, but if you're going to avoid using a rig at least have a good reason for it.β ππ

If the bailiff said go easy on the bait, and you've tried a small mesh bag, you could try going the total opposite and bait really heavily. If everyone is going light give them an offer they can't refuse and spomb the granny out of it.

By all means try to be different, but if you're going to avoid using a rig at least have a good reason for it. This makes it even more important to find them. Chopping and changing isn't likely get you anywhere until you understand what your problem is. There are a million things you could change but it could take months to find the right one. Your best piece of tackle is your eyes. You need to be changing what you do based on what you observe, not just a whim or a hunch. You've not mentioned on this thread if you've been on feeding fish on your sessions. That's the first thing that matters. You have a half decent starting point in that you know what doesn't work i.e. what you've been doing. To be honest, based on what you've said so far, I strongly suggest that finding a few spots is all you need to do. A good spot can turn a difficult lake into an easy one so you just need to know where they are.
-
fish range from about 12lb as smallest to about mid 30`s. i usually put a small mesh bag on tried a session with lobworms on a korda maggot clip, still blanked
-
You havenβt said the size of fish that are in the lake if they are smalll ones I would give the chod a miss I think I would keep it simple In no particular order go with what the bailiff said just to get the bite. stick a pva bag put with a small 10mm hook bait put a zig out go in with a float and worm and hunt them down weather due to break this week so that will help a bit.
-
It's the vogue rig because it works, I've done countless posts on my version and have 100% confidence in it. Lots of people catch plenty using them. If it rains fish at the inlet. And if the weed is that bad you could try and rake a spot. But probably there will be clear spots, they will be showing themselves just keep your eyes open. You could also try fishing solid bags into the weed. Good luck.

I feel your pain Are there 200 carp in the lake ? where did the info come from, are other anglers catching if they are tell them your struggling and would appreciate any info. The reason I ask about the 200 fish is a mate fishing a water last year found it more difficult than usual then found out recently that there had been a fish kill which he didnβt have a clue about. Warm weather is here and il be on the zigs π

Out for a night or two on a 4 acre lake, it's looking good down in this bay. There's been a few shows in the far margin so boated a rig over to it, then put one down my right margin which is about 10ft away from a air pump thing π
