OldBoy Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Hi Guys, As a long term user of ATTs, I remember reading a while they were going to bring out an ATTs alarm with a speaker, maybe to replace the other alarm they used to do? Not seen anything more about this, not on website, maybe a step to far for an alarm I have had over 10 years and is bomb proof. Does anyone else have more info? Quote
yonny Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago They've been demoing them at the carp shows. Due out this year. Quote

elmoputney Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago I saw them at the Essex carp show, they are sweet, come with snag backs as standard. They don't seem to be released yet though. yonny 1 Quote
OldBoy Posted 12 hours ago Author Report Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Thanks, might cost me money.... but a classic phrase.... why replace something that isn't broken 😀 Also the speaker might comprimise how waterproof the original ones are? Edited 12 hours ago by OldBoy elmoputney 1 Quote

If I felt I was missing out having a speaker I might, but tbh I've got used to the receiver now and love just having that nearby at all times. Quote
OldBoy Posted 12 hours ago Author Report Posted 12 hours ago Have to agree elmoputney, Still makes me laugh when alarms have soo many features. imh totally not needed, a take is either a drop back or a run, never needed anything else.. what do I know tho, used to used Optonics hard wired to a BiTech viper alarm box lol Quote

I do use my alarms without the receiver every now and again on day only sessions, so for them to be audible is important to me. At night though I wouldn't be without the receiver next to my head on the storm pole Quote

framey Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago (edited) I think they have missed a trick and not using the same type of speaker as the old optonic would have still been waterproof then and no different in style maybe a little fatter to account for another little PCB? It is if you don't bring it with you😉 My overnight kit is in a rucksack, and the receiver lives in a pocket in that, my day kit is my tackle box, so I don't bring it with me. On a day session it is not like I am miles away from the rods, or deep asleep. Quote
framey Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago There was a lot of stinky winky talk in the early days leaving the receiver at home !! can honestly say I don’t think it’s ever happened as usually the receiver is kept in the same bag as the alarms. what if the receiver packs up !! what if a normal receiver packs up you still missed the bite either way. i think in the 20+ years they have been available they have proven very reliable and the only problem anyone reported was sticky cases..
