Now it's getting warmer do you think I am safe to put all my fishing gear back in my garage , or do you think Mice will still be on the lookout for nest making material please ? . 😃 Quote

I used to set traps in my garage when I lived on Old Norwich Road between Ipswich and Claydon, the darn things would get into the dog and bird food bins even in summer. Maybe it was because we were on the edge of the country, but they could be a pain. I've had traps go off within 5minutes of setting them. crusian and Golden Paws 1 1 Quote
Golden Paws Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 I "lost" a bedchair a few years ago in my garage. My current version is hung up on a wall to prevent a repeat. I spilled some hemp once and noticed that I was getting some visitors. Like Nick, I put a few traps down and nipped it in the bud. I keep virtually all my seed and pellets in strong plastic screw buckets and that seems to keep them at bay. Don't give them a reason to visit and clean up any food items straight away. I worked for a pest control Company for a few months (probably the job I hated most, mostly down to the people I had to work with) but I did take away that you have to be careful with breakneck traps. They should be fine in a garage but exercise caution if using them outside as you don't want to injure non-target species. These include birds, pets and children! jules007 and crusian 2 Quote
B B Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 Hey crusian 👍 I had a bit of trouble with mice in the past in the shed, all bait was stored in metal bins with lids and I was catching a mouse a day using a trap called little nipper higher recommended 👍. I told the Mrs the story and she piped up must be the big box of grass seed she put in there 🙄 Traps are set all year round for me crusian and jules007 2 Quote
crusian Posted March 23 Author Report Posted March 23 Thanks for all the replies fellas . I have 2 old fridge freezers in my garage so I can store my bait safely , but my rods , nets , and lugage won't fit . From your replies it reads that I'll just have to carry on storing my bigger items indoors - damn ! . 🥲 Quote

I still left the poison traps out but only had one dead. Previous years it has been 6+! I do back on to fields though so have a steady population nearby. the plug in pest thing seems to have worked for all manner of creepy crawlies and mice. Worth a look crusian, yonny, kevtaylor and 1 other 4 Quote
