Castable sonar (Ibobber, deeper and such)

I am tempted to get the IBobber sonar that can be cast from a carp rod and does lake mapping back to a smart phone via Bluetooth, has any one used this device, and would i need to use a heavy rod with braid or could i get away with 18lb Mono on a 2.75 rod just casting short distance

I probably wouldn't bother, I have a deeper pro+ and I hardly use it. I find it annoying tbh it connects for a bit and then disconnects itself, I then had to get a WiFi extender to make it work over 50yds and I just found it a complete faff. I prefer my eyes and a lead these days.

Decided to check the app, says it wont work with my phone, so its a no go for me, not buying the sonar and then having to get new phone

I don't they work with well with modern phones let alone one of these 😂

If the app isn't available from the app store, you can download the apk file online and install it that way, it might work even though your phone isn't supported

Its high time i considered a newer mobile, may look at this again in a couple of months as a mate will be selling his mint S23, my old phone is a Huawei P20 lite, its been ace but no support for it now

I agree , Elmo .

Yes my Deeper Pro+ is so much quicker at mapping than a marker float , and lead , but I can never find the interesting spots the Deeper finds later on with my Marker .

It seems everyone needs you to download their App. , can't have a physical piece of plastic anymore . Then you find that you need a new mobile as it isn't new enough to support the App. .

As I'm well into my sixties I feel like I'm being  marginalised , and the world's just for youngsters like Elmo ! .

Fair enough mate, sometimes it can be a software issue with apps, if you've already got it it might be worth checking. Else it's a hardware issue then a new device is needed lol 👍

My phone was working great on all WiFi set ups until October and then all of a sudden it won’t work with 5g wifi

luckily my router works on both and send out both signals.

bet the new one arriving this week won’t so I have to buy a new phone ….
